  11. which is your small-cap tech stock? (09/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
When I mean small cap, I mean that the company has a market capitalization between $300 million and $3 billion. My stock is Kaleyra (KLR). Its an Italian company, a competitor of Twilio but in its infant stage. Its a very undervalued tech play as well: its valuation is only $380 million, compared to Twilio's massive $52 billion. Why do I pick Kaleyra, instead of Twilio, or any other competitor? It operates as a bridge in the communication process of App-Cloud-Message-Customer. A simple SMS from your bank app or Uber happens thanks to a company like Kaleyra. Also provides communications involving chatbots, verification process, voice messages, Whatsapp messages, you name it. Its a sector that keeps growing more and more and has significant barriers of entry. Here some points: -It has a prices-to-sales ratio of 2, yes, only 2!. -Kaleyra operates mainly in Europe, India, and its gaining ground in the US thanks to a very recent acquisition. It has a lot of know-how in the financial industry. -It is cash-flow positive. -It has among its clients Twilio. Yeah, its main competitor has been its client. Plus other 3500 enterprise customers. -It got its debut last year in Wall Street. With the acquisition of Mgage, its projected to double its revenue in a year or less. The stock price has suffered lately, no bad news whatsoever, just affected by the market in general and shorters: 15% of its stocks are shorted. -Twilio is the absolute leader of this sector, with a better growth rate and better margins. However, a company like Kaleyra, with such a small valuation and great growth prospects, offers a potential multi-bagger possibility in a shorter time. Next earning report is next Monday. This is not financial advice. Do your own research. Whats your small-cap tech stock? submitted by /u/digitalwriternow [link] [comments]

  12. Let’s talk Oil and ransomeware (13/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
As you might have seen, gas has been an absolute catastrophe. Oil companies have been taking blow after blow. First from the current administration and now from cyber hacks. Here’s my questions though, many of the Oil tickers I have been following have been steadily decreasing in value. With every dip comes a-rise. When will that rise happen? The long term answer might be next year during the 2022 mid-elections. Or 2024 depending on a new administration. Could there be a rise before then? Maybe when Colonial Pipeline restores fuel on the East Coast? Also something to talk about, ransomware. The pipeline hack is the second cyber attack this month in the US. The first was in San Diego at Scripps Hospital. I have an article blow if you’d like to read it. I’m not savvy in cyber security nor do I follow any cyber news but would love to hear some opinions or hunches to see if there’s any contracts being paid out to any companies for securities and investigations. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/gas-pipeline-hack-ransomware-disrupt-our-lives-195458104.html https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/health/story/2021-05-09/its-not-just-scripps-ransomware-has-been-increasingly-rampant-during-the-pandemic%3f_amp=true https://finance.yahoo.com/news/353-76-million-growth-expected-030000272.html submitted by /u/BlankSnapPop [link] [comments]

  15. KT launches AMD server cloud product (19/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
KT Corp. is launching AMD processor-based virtual server IaaS products for the first time in the country's cloud operators. AMD servers are 80% of the existing same-specification server fee, freeing up high-performance computing resources at an affordable price for enterprise customers. AMD servers can be applied to a variety of business applications, including the general web, middleware, as well as databases and big data analytics. Existing systems can also be easily migrated to industry-standard x86 architectures, making them suitable for customers who need better performance for the price. KT's self-validation shows that AMD servers perform at the same level as Intel server CPU cascades operating on the KT Cloud D1 platform. As a result, enterprise customers preparing for large-scale deployments are expected to significantly reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO) by utilizing AMD servers. AMD servers are available on the D1 platform in the KT Cloud, which is more secure and flexible than regular public cloud zone. After launch, the company plans to continue to expand not only the D1 platform, but also kt G-Cloud and F-Cloud. The D1 platform is built with physical security equipment such as IPS, firewalls, and VPNs for excellent security stability. In addition, up to 15 DMZ and private networks can be flexibly created, and all network and firewall policies can be easily set up within the cloud console. In addition to servers of the same specifications as previous servers, they also offer high-spec servers with up to 128vCore x 256GB of memory. https://m.stock.naver.com/item/main.nhn#/stocks/030200/news/0004641532/office/014 submitted by /u/JWKirby [link] [comments]

  20. Twilio still down from the end of April? (04/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Twilio has hit their numbers and is on a growth trajectory that further solidifies their dominance in their space. They were at around 400 and dropped to 280, then back to 340 then down to 310. Why is it that on large NASDAQ green days this doesn't move, but on red days this goes down huge? Stock should have been at 360 this week imo. I'd be more bearish on products like ZM which may be profitable, but no forward guidance of what their business model is trying to achieve. 21. Twilio down 5 straight days in a row, any news? (05/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Curious as to why Twilio had got extra hammered compared to the rest of tech/growth stocks. No news, but it dropped from 340 to 309 and even on the two bug Green Day’s for nasdaq, it was the only high growth stock lagging. Yes we have other growth stocks that got hit in the last month, but a lot of those at least recovered some from the dip. Just kind of don't understand as I thought I bought leaps and would be safe for a small bump, but they ended up tanking like more than 50% since beginning of May. thought there was some hope a week ago, but all gains were erased this past week with 5 days of downtrend for Twilio. Any insight on this weeks activity would be nice, but also if anyone knows of any news that can be announced in the upcoming month for them that is positive. submitted by /u/lilaznjocky [link] [comments]

  29. Twilio (TWLO) goes into overdrive as virus-driven digital shift gathers pace (01/03/2021 - AlphaStreet)
When enterprises moved their digital assets to cloud platforms en masse during the virus crisis, most software companies benefited from that and Twilio Inc. (NASDAQ: TWLO) is one of them. The company’s software solutions helped businesses stay connected when the shift to remote work gained momentum. The Silicon Valley-based cloud communications specialist remained profitable throughout last year, defying the market’s prediction for loss. That justifies the steady growth of its market value — to a record high this month. Experts are bullish about TWLO’s growth prospects and expect the stock to cross the $500 mark this year, even after the recent rally. While analysts recommend tapping this unusual investment opportunity, many buyers would find the stock too expensive. The optimism can mostly be linked to the elevated demand, driven by the mass adoption of digital technology during the pandemic. The shift to home-based work/study has created a huge demand for software and related services, a trend that is expected to stay even in the post-COVID era. Twilio’s growth strategy is currently focused on heavy investment in all areas of the business, to stay prepared for tapping long-term opportunities. Growth Drivers Segment, the customer data platform that joined the Twilio fold late last year, should add to its growth prospects while providing a unified view to help better understand customers and engage more effectively over digital channels. At the same time, the appointment of Jeremiah Brazeau as chief technology officer is expected to invigorate innovation. As part of its expansion program, Twilio this week clinched a partnership with Syniverse to take mobile communications solutions to the next level. As the company continues to add new users, its customer base expanded by almost a quarter to $221,000 in the fourth quarter. Consequently, revenues grew a whopping 65% to $548 million. Earnings, excluding special items, remained unchanged at $0.04 per share, defying the market’s forecast for a loss. Encouraged by the impressive top-line performance, Twilio executives are looking for a repeat performance in the current quarter. Long-term Opportunity The demand for cloud-communication solutions accelerated after the onset of the coronavirus outbreak and is expected to maintain the momentum even after normalcy returns to markets. Companies that invested in digital transformation would continue using those facilities irrespective of the external situations. Our 2020 results reinforce the idea that there is a massive generational opportunity in front of us. We have long known that there is a huge shift to more digital experiences and that every company is becoming a software company and that has been fueling our growth for more than a decade. And what 2020 showed us is just how true it is that companies that embrace building, that embrace software agility, that empowers their developers are the companies that are prepared for the unknown. Jeff Lawson, chief executive officer of Twilio Read analysts/managements’ comments on Twilio’s Q4 report Unusual Rally In a huge rally, Twilio’s shares grew about four-fold in less than a year, outperforming the broad market and the industry it belongs to. The stock, which is up 23% since the beginning of 2021, traded higher throughout Monday. The post Twilio (TWLO) goes into overdrive as virus-driven digital shift gathers pace first appeared on AlphaStreet.

  35. Twilio being dragged (5 down days) (04/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Looks like the market has dragged stocks downward, even though high growth tech stocks are still in favor this year. Twilio is down 5 trading days in a row from 400+ to now below 360. Steep dive, and they have earnings coming up. Should be a huge beat with segment adding to their rev. Not overvalued if they can overtake some areas of business from companies like RingCentral.
