Can Someone Explain BRZU?

Reddit Stocks

18/05/2021 - 04:40

The ETF was at 1400 in January 2020 before the pandemic really hit and dropped all the way down to below 50 but is slowly climbing back up and is now back up to $115. Can someone explain the huge price drop? Is it because of the pandemic, or were the shares split? Is this ETF a good buy if Brazil can recover from Covid? It seems to me to be in an uptrend, but I'm new to stocks. submitted by /u/mikeskeezer31 [link] [comments]

Just like the title says. I bought one share of BRZU etf, held it for a day, and then went to sell it for the ask price, but it doesn’t go through. Am I supposed to sell it at the bid price? It’s $113 but the bid price is $107. How long does it take to sell a share? submitted by /u/mikeskeezer31 [link] [comments]

  5. How to calculate stop loss with crypto (24/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this; if it isn't please tell me which is the correct subreddit for this. I'm used to putting stop losses at under 2-4% for normal non volatile stocks in the stock market. I started investing in crypto a few months ago and don't know how to calculate where to put the sl, I've read 15% is fine, or calculate it with something related to the volatility, which I did not understand. Could someone please tell me how do I calculate sl or tell me a website where they explain this, because I couldn't find a webpage where they explain it well. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/jasomniax [link] [comments]

  6. Thoughts on #DASH today. Doesn’t make sense, can someone explain? (09/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I bought puts yesterday and made a killing, decided to hold them through today’s IPO share unlock because i was 100% confident this piss poor company was going to dump. But for some reason it’s going up? from what i can tell, sell volume is absolutely dwarfing the buy volume of this stock right now. I’m kinda new to this so can someone explain why it could go up when there is a vast majority of selling rather than buying ? Is anyone else still confident that this stock will fall this week? submitted by /u/gradog82 [link] [comments]

  7. Roblox is worth twice as much as Take-two Interactive (26/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I'm genuinely curios, maybe someone more knowledgeable around here can explain this to me. How come that Take-two Interactive (Rockstar games) is currently valued at 20 billions, while Roblox is valued at 40 billions? I don't know much about valuing a company based on financials and stuff, and i can definitely see the value of ROBLOX, but comon, GTA is a way more established IP that is definitely going to keep growing in the coming years (well, just my opinion of course), while ROBLOX feels like a waaaaay weaker brand, with less history and less future growth. Can somebody explain why Roblox is double the valuation of Rockstar then? submitted by /u/Pelopida92 [link] [comments]

  8. Can someone explain to me how derivative swaps can result in extreme risk? (04/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
When reporting the archegos collapse, major news outlets have blamed derivative swaps as the reason for the fund’s ability to take on extremely leveraged risk, resulting in the collapse. yet there is never an explanation about how the swaps can result in extreme leverage. In the research I’ve done, I’ve found that Derivative swaps are a really broad term, so i was hoping someone could explain how they lead to the archegos collapse. Also could other shady funds be doing the same thing? submitted by /u/DanghisKhan69 [link] [comments]

  9. Advice for a young investor (11/07/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
My awesome son has said he wants me to open a brokerage account for him- Fidelity has them for teens whose parents have accounts. He sees me investing- I’ve been in the stock market with IRAs and mutual funds for years as well as some bluechip companies. This year I bought AMC and GME as well. But this year has really shined a light on so much corruption and market manipulation, that I don’t know how to explain it to my son and make him think that investing is a positive thing! Like if I didn’t already have the money in the market I don’t know if I would feel good about investment more. So I should I explain this to him? And with the S&P SO HIGH right now, would it be better to wait for a correction before putting his allowance and lawn mowing money in the market? WWYD? 10. Looking for 'fun' videos that explain chart analysis and stock screening. (07/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I've got Schwab and the Streetsmart Edge platform with all it's charting and screening capabilities. Like, I've got a chart with the ADX, DI+, and DI- and I read that when your ADX is above 25 and the DI+ is above the DI- it's a good time to buy or when DI- is above DI+ then it's a good time to sell. But I tried that and I keep losing money. Then I noticed that changing the scope of the chart changes the ADX, DI+, DI- graph... Ie. 15 minutes could show sell and 1hr could show buy. It's all pretty confusing. Same with Bollinger Bands. How do I use them? I've found a couple boring videos on youtube that didn't explain the stuff very well. What youtube channels did you find helpful? submitted by /u/oneletterzz [link] [comments]

  11. Can anyone explain why an old company with minimal growth would peak by 1500% DURING the Covid period where every other stock dropped??? (18/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
This is a company I follow loosely. They ran an airport for a city in the UK (Plymouth) and shut it down leading to one of the few cities without an airport, they have a pretty bad rep in the city. https://i.imgur.com/3DsSz8F.png I don't understand why the stock would rise from ~£24 to <£400 then drop down to £16 again, during the black swan event of 2020. Can anyone explain why? I read their annual report a few days before this happened and there was nothing to speculate how this could occur. I hope this doesn't break rule 7 (don't really understand half the terms). I have no open positions on this stock. Nor do I plan to, ever, really, unless I ever inherited a cool billion and could takeover it so I could open the airport again. Thanks submitted by /u/ketoleanfire [link] [comments]

  17. Can someone explain to me why EU banks are a bad investment? (27/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Can someone explain to me why European banks are a bad investment. I have no positions in any of these For e.g, Banco Comercial Portugues SA have mkt cap 1.75B. September 2020 revenue was 891.28 million and net profit margin were 29.23%. December 2020 Rev. was 482.3M and profit margin 7.61%. P/E ratio on Google is 9.6 while on yahoo finance it was 11 I think (which I find strange) This is obviously looks bad going from huge profit margin to lower and revenue decrease but I still think at 480 Million revenue a quarter and 7.6% profit margin it is well worth 1.75B Bank of Ireland is worth 4B and it's revenue is 591.5M with profit margin 3.04%. So in comparison the Portugal bank looks great BNP parisbas is worth 64.54B. P/E is 9.73. Jun 2020 revenue 10.35B,net profit margin 22.22%, SEP 9.68B, 19.56%, Dec 9.75B, 16.32% Deutsch bank P/E ratio 155.92. Revenue past 3 quarters from latest to more recent 5.58B 0.91%, 5.68B 5.04%, 5.27B 3.57% Wells Fargo has P/E ratio 96.13 Why do investors put their money into Wells Fargo and Deutsche Bank when BNP Paris and Portugal bank look good? Can someone explain to me please? And why is it that the share price of Bank of Ireland or Portugals bank share price never recover in the slightest from 2008 while BNP Paris and bank of America are nearly back to were they were in 2008. 18. $DTRK --- +600% change Short Interest Ratio (04/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Please pass on your wisdom and explain to me what am I seeing here: https://www.marketbeat.com/stocks/OTCMKTS/DTRK/short-interest/ This company is really weird chart-looking. It looks like there is an ongoing buy-sell short since 2009. I tried to google who owns the shares, saw "Arosa Investment Management" (Alex Tabatabai). IDK what this really means but if I'm looking at this correctly, there's always a minor increase in the SP when " Total Shares Sold Short " increases, as well as a decrease in SP when TSSS decreases. Isn't this what first happened w GME? Looks like that company is basically done since 2009. It looks like every 2 weeks they just buy and sell to make small profit. Those spikes.. I might be so stupidly way off but if so please explain to me what is this.. (: submitted by /u/Menayek [link] [comments]

  47. Can someone please explain (12/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here so if it isn't I'll be on my way. First of all. I'm a rookie and I'm still learning the ropes. I'm not asking if I did a good trade or what I should do next. I'm not even asking for advice. I''m just trying to figure out the math on something that I cannot find online because I don't know what I should be looking for. So here it goes: I bought 118$ worth of SVRA @2.36$ couple weeks ago The price started to decline. Now SVRA is @1.78$ (Actually -25% on my investment right now) This should've been a day/week trade but as I'm a rookie I'm still learning but now I'm holding the bag. I recently sold another stock with profit. So I now have 600$ to spend. What would happen if I spend 600$ or part of this money on SVRA at the price it is now? Will this lower my average% loss on the previous trade, leveling out? Making it easier to break-even or even gain profit? How do I go and calculate this for myself so I don't need to bother you guys for advice? I've tried using Position calculators but that doesn't tell me what I need to know. Can anyone explain how I can calculate this 'averaging' for next time if I'd want to do something like this? I can provide additional details if that would be necessary. Thank you submitted by /u/Cyay [link] [comments]

  48. BB options play (11/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I was hoping somebody on here would be able to explain a few things to me - in 5th grader terms. I was curious what kinds of option plays people are making for BB, if any? Also if you could explain the logic behind it as well, that would be great! For example, I saw one person saying that they’re going to keep buying/selling puts to pocket roughly $400 each month and use that money to buy more shares or call options. I understand the logic behind buying long calls: you’re buying the rights to buy 100 shares of a stock at a value that is hopefully significantly lower than its current trading price (ex. Buying the right to own 100 shares of Tesla at $10/share when its current trading price is $800). I understand that part, but I don’t really understand the selling side of calls (like how can you sell a contract that you didn’t initially buy?) or buying/selling puts. submitted by /u/Broughiee [link] [comments]
