  17. Steel Dynamics [$STLD] Reports Record First Quarter 2021 Results (19/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/steel-dynamics-reports-record-first-quarter-2021-results-301271841.html We've seen a rise in various steel and iron ore prices only precedented in recent history by that which was seen in 2007-2010 (https://www.investing.com/commodities/us-steel-coil-futures-streaming-chart). At that time, Steel and Iron Ore companies recorded record profits, and many traded to their all-time-highs. With that, I've been monitoring the performance of the metals leaders in the U.S. and around the world - it seems that these companies are again directly benefiting from the favorable conditions in the commodity markets. Outlook: We remain confident that market conditions are in place to benefit the domestic steel industry in 2021 and beyond," said Millett. "While global economies are still recovering from the shock of COVID-19, we are seeing strong steel demand coupled with extremely low customer steel inventory throughout the supply chain. The automotive sector has experienced the strongest recovery, despite the electronic chip shortage, and the construction, equipment and transportation sectors are also strong. Our order entry continues to be robust across our businesses, and when coupled with historically low inventories, supports continued strong steel selling values. We believe this momentum will continue throughout the year and that our second quarter 2021 earnings will be even higher than our record first quarter 2021 results. We also believe U.S. trade policies and existing steel trade cases will continue to moderate steel imports. Based on strong domestic steel fundamentals and customer optimism, we continue to be confident regarding North American steel market dynamics. This positive environment coupled with our strategic growth initiatives provide firm drivers for our further growth in the coming years. Hi, I’m sorry if something similar to this has been posted plenty before. I’m looking for some discussion or recommendations for a high risk, potentially super high reward stock over the next few years. I’ve moved most of my portfolio into safe investments like VTI, but I’m looking for a small position in something that has the potential to blow up. And it’s ok if it also drops 50% because it won’t be a large investment, and it’s just a gamble mostly. Thanks for any suggestions. submitted by /u/JKMA63 [link] [comments]

  25. Question about risk and profit management (30/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Hi all, I've got to ask you about opinions and suggestions on my current risk and profit management. I've been using it about a while to a success but now I'm thinking that it might be tweaked a little. So basically I have four Risk Percent thresholds of possible losses: 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. Each of these is correlated to Decimal Amount of profit (reward part of risk and reward), 10% is 0,25; 20% is 0,5; 30% is 1 and 40% is 2. When setting stop loss/take profit I first set my entry price. From that I calculate stop loss by doing simple equation: SL= Entry - (Entry * Risk Percent). After SL is calculated I calculate take profit: TP= [(Entry - SL)* DecimalAmount ]+Entry So what do you guys think about it? I was thinking that I might be taking too little profit, especailly that I'm more of a swing/position trader. What would you guys suggest? submitted by /u/badwolfus [link] [comments]
