  1. Bright machine IPO through SCVX (03/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Ok so I want to get stocks in this company called bright machines. Now i saw this: Bright Machines, an industry leader in intelligent, software-defined manufacturing, and SCVX (NYSE: SCVX), a special purpose acquisition company, announced today that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement that will result in Bright Machines becoming a publicly listed company. Upon completion of the merger, Bright Machines intends to trade under the ticker symbol “BRTM”. So my question is this. If I buy SCVX will that supposedly be like eventually buying Bright machines? since they are merging? or should I wait for the IPO and buy BRTM? If it's to wait then how do I know when they go public? submitted by /u/goodknightffs [link] [comments]

  8. Amazon nears deal to buy MGM Studios for nearly $9 billion (24/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/24/amazon-nears-deal-to-buy-mgm-for-nearly-9-billion.html Amazon is close to a deal to buy MGM for between $8.5 billion and $9 billion. It'd be Amazon biggest acquisition since it bought Whole Foods in 2017 for $13.7 billion. This is a positive news for amazon as it spending big on acquisition to boost the video contents. This will help attract more prime members and let them enjoy more quality contents. This is also a major move to defend the competition from Netflix and Disney+. As the share still trading near $3250, it is still a very reasonable price for investors to buy and hold. submitted by /u/coolcomfort123 [link] [comments]

  9. 5 Steps to a SPAC IPO (16/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
This post is based on a conversation I had with Niccolo De Masi who is very experienced in the SPAC business. He has done 4 SPACs so far. The purpose here is to get a better understanding of what the process is when a Startup goes from a private company to a publicly listed company with a SPAC IPO. If you prefer to see it as a video instead it is available here. #1 CHECK THE BUSINESS FUNDAMENTALS What does it take to SPAC IPO a business very much depends on the sector. You will be compared to your peer group. Requirements are pretty much the same as any other type of IPO. #2 GET TEAM AND PARTNERS READY FOR THE SPAC You will be a public company when the deal closes, you have to be ready for that. Hire a CFO. Appoint auditors. Get the forecasts ready, be very conservative you must make the numbers. You have a year to get compliant after you close the SPAC. #3 FIND A SPAC Similar to finding any other investor. Meet a few and see what is a good match. You can hire a banker to find a SPAC, but be aware that there are a lot of people in the SPAC business that are learning on the job. Try and work with experienced people, people that have done a SPAC before. This goes for lawyers, accountants and advisors too, hire experienced people. #4 CLOSE THE DEAL WITH THE SPAC First, a letter of intent is made with binding exclusivity and terms this is a shorter 8-10 page document. After that, the business combination agreement is made and this can be several hundred pages. Start talking to investors about raising more capital in a PIPE. The PIPE is short for Private Investment in Public Equity which is extra money into the transaction. PIPE is often used for secondaries. #5 TELL THE WORLD AND START TRADING The business combination agreement and PIPE agreements are signed and the announcement is made. At this point, anyone can buy shares in the SPAC even before the merger has happened. Once the SEC has approved the merger the shareholder of the SPAC vote and the merger actually happens. After that, the vote happens the ticker changes overnight and anyone can buy stock in this merged stock. submitted by /u/Heinizach [link] [comments]

I orginally tried to post this on r/stocks but my post karma was too low so I am trying this here. I bought in at $7.75 and am up roughly 50%. I know they are launching their own crypto exchange during this quarter, so I'm going to assume the stock price will fluctuate depending on the success of that. I also know that they invested into mining and they can manufacture their own machines (I think I saw that the margins of selling mining machines is around 80-90%) although I read that they are buying from other manufactors as well. Does anyone have an rational price target for EBON? Any major points that I'm missing? Thank you so much! submitted by /u/Embarrassed_Camera81 [link] [comments]

Originally bought 25 shares at $34.06 Feb 7th. Bought 5 more shares at $35.11 Feb 12th. Sitting pretty for today’s announcement I thought. FOMO got me this morning so I bought 180 shares at $60 right at open for $10800. Set a stop loss at $50 per share. Was up $800-$1200 all day. Pre-announcement I noticed at 12:45 that the price was crashing. Quickly look on Twitter for bad news. Deal off? Lucid going IPO route instead? Burry bought shorts? Even with my stop loss, I panicked and sold it all 210 shares at $57.58 and saved $250 in profit at 12:54. Price stabilizes, I check Twitter and can’t find any bad news. Deal still likely to go through. I FOMO hard again and buy back in with 214 shares at $58.66 in AH at 1:11pm for $12,552. Almost immediately it starts to go down and I’m down almost $4k for chasing this stupid deal. I’m officially a moron. Any chance this turns around for me? DCA down when I can? submitted by /u/Marroy2006 [link] [comments]
