  12. Can the stock market please crash already? (01/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I would like the big banks to just admit that they've overleveraged hundreds of hedge funds and that Archegos was just a taste of what's to come. Valuations in the market are sitting 16-32x what they should be and another fire sale(s) could trigger a cascade of panic selling. Someone please tell me how they're comfortable investing in today's market when stocks from March of 2020 to March of 2021 look like a fucking stiletto on the growth chart. There is no justification for a company's stock to gain $30 in one month when it's already sitting at $110. More speculation, more excess dollars and sooner or later it will come to a head. I'm tired of waiting, just get on with the fucking show already. submitted by /u/Defiant_Statement_81 [link] [comments]

Market Status: Rally Attempt The $SPY and $QQQ had a good rally today, with yesterday being a confirmation day for the $QQQ. With that said, it looks like buying strength is coming back into the market. Is this strength real or a false sense of hope? As the market stands right now, it has not established a clear trajectory, so the answer is that nobody knows. If you are one on the riskier side, it never hurts to protect yourself with stop-losses immediately after buy orders trigger. The reality of the stock market is that it does what it wants and doesn't care about what you think it should do, so it is far more profitable to observe and act accordingly. A word from the wise, outweighing the possible risk of loss is better than being greedy. Processing img up06pdw3pc071... submitted by /u/Fly-Elevated [link] [comments]

  28. Inexperienced investor, with 5k cash sitting in an IRA. (27/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hey guys! Cards on the table, I know very little about the stock market and how it works. I understand the concept of return on investment, capital gains, high risk vs low risk, etc. I’m just looking for advice on what I should do with the 5k sitting in “cash investments” for my contributory IRA. It used to be a profit sharing account managed by my old company’s accounting firm, but I quit that job and moved across the country. They originally put 1.2k into Vanguard ETFs, right before the pandemic, which have performed extravagantly well in the past year. I think it’s up something like 45%. TLDR; I have 5k waiting to be invested in my IRA already, I just don’t know what to do with it. Are the returns on this ETF unprecedented, or would I be wise to buy up a few more shares expecting it to see more lift? I’m not trying to become financially independent right now, I just hate to see cash sitting there losing value every month and am not sure how to amend that. submitted by /u/Clocktease [link] [comments]
