Bitcoin: Make It Or Break It

INO.com

09/05/2021 - 23:03

One of our readers requested the update on cryptos, including Ethereum, this week. Here we go. The leading coin has taught us excellent lessons recently. I shared with you a bullish setup for Bitcoin a month ago. In the following update, I recommended to move the stop loss higher from $50k to $55k area to […] The post Bitcoin: Make It Or Break It appeared first on INO.com Trader's Blog.

  1. Could Tesla actually sell its cars in pure bitcoin (not dollar-denominated) and make a massive gain on its $1.5bn stake in the process? (23/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I'm real stoney baloney here... but... What if Tesla were to announce that instead of selling a car for say $50,000 ... it sells it for 1 bitcoin instead (regardless of the $-value of bitcoin). Right now bitcoin is ~$50,000 so its about an even tradeoff. Now... what if Tesla were to instead sell that $50,000 car for 0.1 bitcoin? Do you think that Tesla's pricing would be enough to shoot up the price of bitcoin (theoretically up to 10x)? If bitcoin goes up, Tesla could make a pretty penny on its stake if it decides to sell. Would this even be legal lol? Is it totally insane? Now that I wrote it out this seems insane and like market manipulation. But funny to think about. I do wonder if Tesla will ever sell its cars in pure bitcoin rather than dollars, and how that would work. submitted by /u/Throw_away2579 [link] [comments]

The bullish setup for Bitcoin that I discussed last week was not triggered, as the price did not break above the bullish confirmation level. 4. The enormous bear case for RIOT (DD). (14/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Got archived on r/investing for some reason so here it is: Riot Blockchain, Inc ($RIOT) are a bitcoin mining company with the most insane fundamentals i’ve ever seen. They’re at a P/S of 500 with -150% operating margin and -250% profit margin. As far as i can tell, their recent price spike from 65 cents to $62 has been purely due to bitcoin hype, and while bitcoin may definitely still have a way to go up now eventually it will come back down (imo to $15-25k for the next few years). When this happens the hype will die, and Riot should fall back down to a couple dollars. Btw this is not because i’m bearish on bitcoin or cryptos in general, in fact I have the majority of my (tiny) net worth in cryptos right now incl. bitcoin. So i would love if someone could provide a bull case for Riot that doesn’t include bitcoin hitting $500k or never dropping below $50k again. For me, i’m gonna be either shorting it or putting with $15 strike price expiring Jan 2022 (break even price 11.60) unless someone can convince me otherwise. submitted by /u/hatetheproject [link] [comments]

  9. Bitcoin miners (02/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
So I have some questions There seems to be very little info on this fast developing industry of bitcoin mining So they make money by mining coins ! Now question is what happens at halving? Their profits halve too? 50% stock dump? 2 what happens if bitcoin goes to 150k and back to 60k is it possible for these stocks to be higher at that point ? So my question is , is this a bitcoin tracker or a company that makes profit so let's say bitcoin stays flat for 1 year (imagine)will the miners still go up since they are racking in profit all this time ? Or will they stay flat too Summary Halving? Profit machine or bitcoin tracker? submitted by /u/BusinessCookie2032 [link] [comments]

  11. Investors: Make sure you all understand and know how to calculate your “Break-Even Rate”. (23/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Inflation and taxes can easily erode your profits/gains over time. Especially when you enter and exit trades consistently over the long-term or if your investments are placed in a non-tax sheltered account. Your break-even rate is the rate of return you need to make just to keep up your purchasing power level, not including brokerage fees. To calculate, first estimate the rate of inflation you expect to experience over the next year, you can refer to the Bureau of Labour statistics (BLS) which also publishes the Consumer price index (CPI) which is a measure of inflation. To calculate your break-even rate you can use the formula: (i) / (100 - E) = B B: Break-even rate I: Inflation E: Effective tax-rate Ex. If you assume a (2%) inflation over the coming year and your combined tax rate is 44% then your break even rate is: 2% / (100 - 44) = (3.6%). 3.6% net on your portfolio to maintain your purchasing power. Earning this rate does not provide any real profits, it only maintains the value of your investments. If you are earning less than your break-even rate after taxes and inflation have been taken into account, you are actually losing money on your total investments and may have to accept high risk just to maintain your purchasing power. submitted by /u/Mynameistowelie [link] [comments]

BBIG possibly after 10+ breakout 15-20+ end of day, SPRT broke 30+ again, should see 50s today, META can break 5 and end the day above 7+, NURO should break 20s and hit 25-30, and AMC could break 48 this week and have a quad top 50+ breakout rule, these tickers are going huge today/ should be strong this week. What does anybody else think? I'm also watching for these on the weekly: UPST to get 250+ to 300, Naked to finally break 1$, MDIA to break 10$ and hit 15+, SBET to break 10+ and possibly get 12-15, Root to break 10 today and 15 this week, and ATER to break 10 and hit 15-20 this week. A lot of these markets are at similar market caps and prices, and could have very similar movements this week so I'm watching them all. Trying to average down what I can, if I missed one, I'm moving to another at a lower price, rather than risking buying the tops, because any one of these could go big any day now, based on the charts. submitted by /u/Thebbwe [link] [comments]

Wasn’t sure If this belongs here or on r/bitcoin. As I write this OBTC (Osprey Bitcoin trust) and GBTC (greyscale Bitcoin trust) and trading in opposite directions. They both have the same underlying (Bitcoin). Why would one be -15% but the other +7% ? What am I missing? Most people are familiar with Bitcoin and GBTC. GBTC let’s you track Bitcoin but comes with a premium to Bitcoin and high fees. OBTC is very new, and is a low cost way to track BTC in your brokerage or IRA. Looking thru the news I don’t see anything about OBTC at all, so I’m not sure why the sell off especially when Bitcoin is up about 7% today. Ask yourself this one question, if you went up to someone and asked them about Bitcoin they would instantly know about Bitcoin but ask them how Bitcoin is made? Positive post people who aren’t into stocks nor know Bitcoin know that Bitcoin is mined with computer with complex rewarded equations. I feel like the market for mining has been going on forever but the public eye hasn’t really seen it unless you understand Bitcoin and know about it. Bitcoin mining is very profitable with profit being able to be seen only 5 month into the investment for example the bitminer s19 cost about 6K in about 5-6 month you’ll see your profit back and for the rest of your life as the machine is working you’ll be getting Bitcoin profit daily. Please read that word “ daily “ as this is passive income every day of your life which I don’t see any other stock doing that. Most Bitcoin miners are soldout and resold for heavy pricing to miners needing them, this is good for sales and demand for miners so the company is on track for profit. Do a quick google search on Bitcoin mining rentals and most are soldout. What is $EBON Chinese company that makes Bitcoin mining machines and is expanding into actually mining it for themselves. Due to the market drop $EBON is down almost 50% and with the upcoming Bitcoin news of 57K break-hold, I predict that $EBON and other blockchain or BTC related stocks will boom. This is a easy flip for x3 if you’re willing to wait, this will be paying daily with gains as long as Bitcoin market is good, which is usually the case Lowest - around $5 High - $12 As of this post $6 $EBON Video https://youtu.be/zZe-j8x-DQI submitted by /u/MildestKicks [link] [comments]

This past month SQ share price has tracked nearly identical to the fluctuations of bitcoin. For example, both dropped to their monthly low on 1/27 and had a sharp spike to all time highs today. I am (was?) very bullish on SQ based on the theory that post-COVID, they can generate more revenue from small business + it's possible they could be added to the S&P500 sometime in the future...but as of recently, I do not like how the share price of SQ is tracking with bitcoin. What are your thoughts on this? Does it make sense to stop buying shares right now (or just buy the dips)? I'm not sure what to make of this so I'd like to hear your thoughts. Thank you! 23% of Tesla's Q1 earnings were from Bitcoin trading - and they would have missed earnings otherwise Title says it all. Tesla's earnings in the first quarter were $438 million. $101 million (23%) of that came from selling Bitcoin for profit. The other interesting part is that it would have been an earnings miss without the trading. Did one make the other happen? Considering the recent news about not allowing Bitcoin anymore, it's certainly a move worth mentioning. Should I invest now? I don't want to be waiting until it crashes and not investing until it suddenly just spikes to 60 thousand or something, but in the meantime, I don't want to be wasting money and buying right before a crash. 37. CCTL has gotten a 42x gain!!! If you predict bitcoin and mining to go up higher, join the ride. (14/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
CCTL is probably the best way to get into Bitcoin and Mining. The share price of $0.022 is an easy way to accumulate a huge position. It tracks the price of Bitcoin well. I notice if bitcoin goes up by 3x, CCTL goes up 42x!!! Here’s an example: Dec 7, 2020 - Feb 17, 2021 Bitcoin goes up from $19k to $56k (3x increase) CCTL went up from 0.001 to 0.042 = (42x increase!) So let’s assume BItcoin today at price of $60k triples again to $180k. Then I expect my CCTL to increase 42x fold again! Retail FOMO hasn’t even happened yet. My family account has just under $170K. Just multiply that by 42x and that’s $7.14M!!!!!! Even if you only have $10k invested x 42 = $420k!!!! Just think about how many miners there are that are now at $0.70, 0.80, $1, $5, etc. They all started at 2 cents!!!! So why can’t CCTL get up there?! THIS is the easiest way to become rich and become a millionaire if you believe bitcoin is only going to go up! To the moon!!! submitted by /u/AlphaMale888 [link] [comments]

Good morning, This is my watchlist for today: $LODE (Comstock Mining) - Leading gapper today and has already made some big move. The first break of the VWAP (8:49am) was a false breakout which is unusual as it seems to be ripping on the second break of VWAP. Catalyst appears to be acquiring a majority position in AQMS, a battery recycling company. $CLPS (CLPS Incorporation) - Similar situation to LODE with this one, having recently broken the VWAP. I'm looking for a break of the premarket highs of $13.88 at the moment. Other stocks I'll be watching: PETZ (seems to be a memestock), AKU As a reminder, trading is risky, make sure you put stops in place and follow your initial plan regardless. (For the U.S) To calculate your break-even rate you can use the formula: (i) / (100 - E) = B I: Inflation E: Effective tax-rate B: Break-even rate Ex. If you assume a (2%) inflation over the coming year and your combined tax rate is 44% then your break even rate is: 2/ (100 - 44) x100 = (3.6%). About 3.6% “Net” on your portfolio to maintain your purchasing power. Earning this rate does not provide any real profits, it only maintains the value of your investments. If you are earning less than your break-even rate after taxes and inflation have been taken into account, you are actually losing money on your total investments and may have to accept high risk just to maintain your purchasing power. Of course, if you are having trouble achieving alphas when applying an active management strategy, you can always switch to a more passive, indexing buy and hold strategy while assuming less risk. Edit: This post is focused on the concept of inflation/tax risk and how to calculate ones break-even rate. Not investment objectives, strategies, capital limitations etc. Pls keep comments relative to the topic. :) submitted by /u/Mynameistowelie [link] [comments]

  49. Future of mining? (23/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Forgive my ignorance - I am new to the cryptocurrency game, but I'm curious about how to invest in crypto mining companies like RIOT and MARA. So IF, Bitcoin and Etherium are overvalued, and the potential for DOGE might make a serious run for actual use, do these companies ALSO mine for DOGE or just BITCOIN? And IF they don't, would it be reasonable to expect that they don't that we look for alternate investment options? Do we know if there are companies mining MULTIPLE currencies - or is BITCOIN the end all be all for now? I am trying to align my future investments in the "new" game - hoping that it becomes the new norm. I don't want to invest in options that are soon to become irrelevant [ie Beta vs VHS even though BOTH are done] submitted by /u/socialrxdad [link] [comments]
