  3. Universal Music Group IPO / Spin Off (09/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hey Guys, so I was looking to Invest into the Universal Music Group spin off hopefully later this year. Tencent recently bought 20% of the Company at a 30 Billion Valuation, so Vivendi decided in February to Spin Off 60% of Universal Music Group to Investors. I assume the offering price for the company will be around 30 bln as well since the Tencent purchase only happened recently. As far as I understand they will distribute Shares of UMG to Vivendi Shareholders via a special asset dividend. It is also mentioned, that they will List the Stock onto the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. Does this mean, that I have to own Vivendi Shares in order to receive Universal Stocks at IPO or will I also be able to buy them directly on the Stock Exchange on IPO Day without owning Vivendi Stock? Thanks alot! submitted by /u/NickyBarnes87 [link] [comments]

It also provides a hefty basis for its ambitions to move beyond mobile games and compete directly with global heavyweights developing expensive "AAA" titles on platforms such as desktop computers, Sony's PlayStation, Nintendo's Switch and Microsoft's Xbox. Last week, Tencent reported 156.1 billion yuan ($23.79 billion) in overall online game revenues for 2020 but did not break down revenue for individual studios, which are run independently and compete with each other. submitted by /u/ZifoIhyx [link] [comments]

  23. $PSTH - Universal Music IPO 10% Stake ???? (10/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hello! I wanted to break down a few discoveries made today and why I am purchasing $PSTH today and what it means for Universal Music Group. $PSTH is currently in talks of purchasing 10% of UMG (Universal Music Group). This is a $4 billion dollar purchase. ???? This values UMG at $42 billion. Rollingstone.com states UMGs value could even be as high as $100+ billion. Keep in mind, UMG is currently a private company, but is planning to IPO this year which will be huge. UMG has the largest artist in the world on its roster. Absolute cash cows. Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Queen, etc! $PSTH is currently on sale after the announcement and is the perfect opportunity for early investors. Purchasing $PSTH now is the equivalent of getting in early with UMG, the world's largest music company. Once it does IPO, it will be HUGE. 24. Tencent Sustains Covid-Era Boom as Revenue Climbs 25% (20/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Tencent Holdings Ltd. reported a 25% gain in quarterly revenue as China’s largest company sustained a boom in gaming and cloud that began during the Covid-19 pandemic. Revenue climbed to 135.3 billion yuan ($21 billion) in the three months ended March, compared with the average 133.8 billion yuan of estimates. Net income came in at 47.8 billion yuan, versus 28.9 billion yuan a year earlier. The results affirmed the resilience of the world’s largest game publishing business as the pandemic recedes. For now, gaming and social content remain Tencent’s biggest and steadiest cash cows. It announced a pipeline of more than 40 new mobile and PC titles during its annual game showcase Sunday, including those adapted from familiar content like Japanese manga series One Piece and Digimon. submitted by /u/Mr-Monroe [link] [comments]

  26. TME - Tencent Music Entertainment Group, excited for earnings! ???? (22/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I like the stock. I bought at $14.28 per share to complement my existing TCEHY position and ended up consolidating all into TME. Untapped potential in midst of booming momentum music streaming. Views on China companies seem to be skewed due to mainstream coverage of Alibaba’s government conflicts. Albeit Chinas govt does encroach on the growth and prosperity of its internet companies, TCHEY nearly falls into the same too big too fail category as BABA. Music streaming trends have only benefited from latest macro impacts due to covid. Also on the watchlist is VIVHY Vivendi SE. I closed this position which I entered at 20.71 per share and exited at 30.02 per share. VIVHY had a big stock uptick of approx. 22% on news that it would distribute 60% of subsidiary Universal Music Group's share capital to shareholders and list the music label in Amsterdam by the end of the year. I’m excited for TME earnings today and hope for similar news related stock reaction in the near future. Also AMC ???? submitted by /u/Slap_Me_Silly_ [link] [comments]

  38. Is Spotify (SPOT) worthy of my investment dollar? (07/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I am pretty much torn over SPOT. I have used Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. I have to say that playlists and recommendations from Spotify are the best. Even though I love using Spotify, I am not sure whether I should put any money into the stock. The main issue I have with SPOT is it is the only company in the music streaming game that needs to make money off of music streaming. All the other companies (AAPL, AMZN, GOOG) don't have to make a penny from their music streaming services because these companies have way more profitable lines of businesses. Besides, music streaming does not have any economy of scale to speak of. The more users you have, the more music is getting streamed, the more royalties you have to pay out. Any thoughts on why SPOT should have a spot in my stock portfolio? Am I missing something? submitted by /u/Asleep_Cup_1337 [link] [comments]

  49. FYI: Wall Street banks ditch $19 billion of stocks in ‘unprecedented’ block trade selloff – media (28/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have reportedly sold $19 billion worth of shares in Chinese tech and US media companies. Traders are now wondering what caused the unusually massive move and whether it will continue next week. Goldman Sachs alone liquidated $10.5 billion worth of stocks in block trades on Friday, Bloomberg reported citing the investment bank’s email to clients. The first batch, that included $6.6 billion worth of shares of Baidu, Tencent Music Entertainment Group and Vipshop Holdings, was sold before the market opened on Friday. Later that day, the bank reportedly managed the sale of $3.9 billion worth of shares in American media conglomerates ViacomCBS and Discovery, as well some other companies, such as Farfetch, iQiyi and GSX Techedu. Another US investment bank involved in the block trades, which are believed to have wiped $35 billion off affected firms’ valuations in just one day, was Morgan Stanley. The investment bank offered two batches of shares worth $4 billion each on Friday, according to the Financial Times. While block trades, when sellers are looking for buyers for large volumes of securities at a price sometimes negotiated privately between the two parties, are a common thing, the scale of Friday’s moves raised eyebrows. submitted by /u/Mooney-Aviator [link] [comments]
