Reddit Stocks

27/02/2021 - 13:40

Kimbal Musk, Elon's brother, sounded the alarm when he started to realize his gains at the $800-900 range. Now Tesla is experiencing plant closures, recalls, and Elon seems to be distracted with Bitcoin. At this rate, the stock will hit $500 by the end of next week. The market is almost all red. Momentum has decreased, people are realizing their gains. Not a good time to buy Tesla or any stock overall. submitted by /u/_bono983 [link] [comments]

  2. Elon Musk believes Bill Gates had a big short position on Tesla (TSLA) and lost a lot of money (12/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Elon Musk revealed that he has heard that Bill Gates had a big short position on Tesla (TSLA), and he might have lost a lot of money on it. Billionaires Musk and Gates don’t always have good words to say about each other, but they do appear to share similar concerns about climate change. However, Gates made some strange comments about electrification last year, including that electric trucks, like the Tesla Semi, and electric airplanes will “probably never” work. In a new interview on the Joe Rogan Experience, Musk was asked about those comments from gates. Tesla’s CEO responded: “He didn’t know what he was talking about. Probably somebody told him that and he is just not that close to the physics of it. I don’t think he is ill-intentioned here, I just think he doesn’t know what he is talking about.” He added Tesla already has working prototypes of electric trucks that are transporting cargo – something that we already pointed out in our original report about Gates’ comment, including the fact that not only Tesla has working electric semi truck programs, but also other automakers like Daimler. But then Musk revealed that he has heard that Gates was betting against Tesla with a large short position: “I also heard that at one point he had a large short position. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it seems weird. People I know who know the situation pretty well, I asked them “are you sure?” and they said “yes, he has a huge short position on Tesla”. That didn’t work out too well.” We have reached out to Gates’ foundation to see if we could get a comment on Musk’s claim, and we will update if we get an answer. Tesla has sometimes been the most shorted stock on the NASDAQ, and people who bet against the electric automaker lost $38 billion in 2020. https://electrek.co/2021/02/12/elon-musk-believes-bill-gates-big-short-position-on-tesla-tsla-lost-money/ submitted by /u/AjaxFC1900 [link] [comments]

  4. Will the tesla stock crash back to below 700? (04/08/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I still believe Tesla stock is overvalued. Few months back Tesla stock rose to 800-ish then it crash to 550. Alot of people lost money. Seeing this extreme volatility of this stock. I believe this stock will again crash to back to its value. I have been reading post and people conversation; alot of them think it might go up to 1000. And many people are buying Call of this high value. Even thou tesla is not a meme stock and a strong company. This increase in its value all seems to be due to news of infrastructure bill. But what if it does not pass this week and delayed. Will it go back to 600 or increase. I am not that experienced but think this pump is temporary and its overvalued. What are everyone thoughts about this stock. submitted by /u/akhan2112 [link] [comments]

  5. Just because some stocks took a dip doesn't mean that they are undervalued (09/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
In some cases like Sony or Blizzard it made the stocks good buys that you could comfortably keep as blue chippers to rise in the future since they are priced right. In other cases like Qualcomm and AMD I believe it made them great buys since they are severely undervalued but you have to watch out not every company that dipped is a must buy. Take Tesla for example that lost more than 36% of value in just a month when it was at 880 or Square that lost 27% since last month and is now at 201. Considering their financials it still feels like they might keep dipping because you are buying their financials not just the company. If Tesla has a P/E ratio of over 800 with 0.63 EPS and only 31 Billion in revenue that doesn't scream like a 1000$ stock more so 250-300 so watch out when just looking at pricing history and making a buying decision purely based on that. submitted by /u/Krios625 [link] [comments]

  9. Tesla temporarily halts production at Model 3 line in California: Bloomberg News (25/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-tesla-production-idUSKBN2AP12J Workers on a Model 3 production line in Fremont were told their line would be down from Feb. 22 until March 7, according to the report. It was also unclear how much volume or revenue Tesla would lose due to the production halt. The Fremont plant has an annual production capacity of 500,000 Model 3s and Model Ys combined. Several automakers, including General Motors Co, Volkswagen AG, and Ford Motor Co, are hit by the shortage of chips, forcing them to scale down production. Look like the chips shortage issue are hitting all auto makers. Tesla might lost some revenue but that won't be a major impact. 10. "This could be the next TESLA" and Powerpuff Girls (18/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I've been seeing a lot of posts and comments with something in the lines of "This could be next TESLA", and while some are using it as a meme, others are serious and take whats being said pretty serious. I think one of the origins of this is fomo - fear of missing out, and I understand that, in fact, I think almost everyone understands that. We all have that unrealistic side that still hopes that we gonna hit the jackpot on a stock and get a lot of money. Everyone day-dreams and I think thats good thing, however it also needs to be compartmentalized. When you join FOMO, with day dreaming and companies like TESLA or Amazon (and in a way GME for a few) that enforce the latter, things can get a bit out of hand. It is way to easy to get lost and end up both checking stocks that we now think its too late to get in (and oh no we just lost our chance of getting rich) or getting into some stocks that its more gamble than actually DD. And despite writing this post, I have at least one stock that I feel like is gamble and supports my day dream wishes of getting rich, the problem is not on having such stock, but rather build our portfolios based on that. So when I see posts saying that X Company can be the next Tesla just... chill. Think that through, either if you are writing it or reading it. In the first case have in mind that a lot of people might read it, people with different backgrounds, knowledge, hopes, dreams and also age. Don't over sell something but rather aim for getting comments like "I think this has more potential than you are giving to it". Comments like this means that people actually made some research. If you are reading... well long-story short... do DD (there are plenty of posts warning about it). Now the "Next TESLA" thing: A company is many things and many things impact that company. Like Powerpuff Girls sugar ain't enough. What made Powerpuff girls was not only the sugar but also the Chemical X. Example: Just because Tesla has had a huge success on EV that does not mean that Seat will have the same success on EV too. Traditional auto brands aiming for EV and changing the their plans for the next years is not the Chemical X but rather the Sugar. I mean, lets be real, it was expected! Chemical X in Tesla might be Elon itself, might be because it was the first big EV project that succeded, might be because a buch of reasons all together that... well, are unique to Tesla. That doesn't mean that only Tesla has Chemical X and others don't, but rather don't think it something easy to find or easy to tell. Not every company will be the next TESLA (most likely 99% of them won't) and for sure something that several companies are investing it also won't be the next Chemical X. The whole point of this post was just to getting this off my chest and, hopefully, reach to one or two users that really think that everything "could be the next Tesla" or believe it when someone says it will. They might be right but... if we were all right all the time... we wouldn't still be here but rather in our own Tesla's in a beach somewhere. Usual Disclaimer: English is not my main language and I'm not a financial advisor, so considerer at given value. Not so Usual Disclaimer: I liked Powerpuff girls but I'm not the #1 fan. 25. Could Tesla actually sell its cars in pure bitcoin (not dollar-denominated) and make a massive gain on its $1.5bn stake in the process? (23/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I'm real stoney baloney here... but... What if Tesla were to announce that instead of selling a car for say $50,000 ... it sells it for 1 bitcoin instead (regardless of the $-value of bitcoin). Right now bitcoin is ~$50,000 so its about an even tradeoff. Now... what if Tesla were to instead sell that $50,000 car for 0.1 bitcoin? Do you think that Tesla's pricing would be enough to shoot up the price of bitcoin (theoretically up to 10x)? If bitcoin goes up, Tesla could make a pretty penny on its stake if it decides to sell. Would this even be legal lol? Is it totally insane? Now that I wrote it out this seems insane and like market manipulation. But funny to think about. I do wonder if Tesla will ever sell its cars in pure bitcoin rather than dollars, and how that would work. submitted by /u/Throw_away2579 [link] [comments]

Fisker (FSR) is still doomed. Months ago, even before becoming publicly traded via reverse merger, Fisker was hyped as the next Tesla. Henrik Fisker has aimed to build the company as the next Tesla. The Foxconn manufacturing deal is part of this goal, and so is the Magna manufacturing deal. However, it is an earlier negotiating failure that has proved that Fisker does not have the acumen to see the next Tesla even if it was right before him. In fact, not seeing the Next Tesla literally is exactly what unfolded. On the other hand, what value could Fisker itself have brought to the table? 37. Tesla: The Sustainable Energy Technology Company Accelerating the World's Transition to Sustainable Energy (14/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Many view Tesla as just an electric vehicle automotive company, but I believe they are much more. They are developing sustainable energy technology that will enable all of humanity to live on Earth sustainably long-term. This is all because Tesla has designed a trifecta of sustainable energy products: products for energy consumption, energy production, and energy storage. Despite Tesla's incredible run in its stock price from less than $100 two years ago to over $700 now, I still believe Tesla is incredibly undervalued on a long-term basis, as I believe Tesla will be the world's most valuable company by 2030 with an eventual market cap of at least $5 Trillion. The world NEEDS sustainable energy technology, and Tesla is the leader in providing this technology. The value of such technology is unfathomable, and demand for all their products will only increase exponentially with time as the climate change crisis worsens. If you want to learn more about Tesla, how they make money, and what I believe their future will be, listen in to my latest podcast will I break all of this down. It is a compelling argument but how did Tesla manage to do it and nobody else will? I am assuming the same argument was used 100 years ago about gas stations, no? In any case, interesting to see what you guys think. Not specifically about Tesla but about how the rest of EV market will evolve. submitted by /u/Dowdell2008 [link] [comments]

  42. Apple collaborating with Tesla (01/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Apple will begin using Tesla’s batteries at their new solar farm. This may lead to a long lasting relationship regarding battery technology. Tesla is more than a car company. It is a mass data collection company, battery innovation company, and lastly a car manufacturer. https://www.theverge.com/2021/3/31/22360839/apple-tesla-megapack-energy-storage-grid-solar-batteries submitted by /u/walmartpriest [link] [comments]

  43. Tesla targeted by the party, will Elon soon get the Jack Ma treatment? (29/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
The protest action at the Shanghai auto show could have been a targeted attack against Tesla. According to media reports, the woman got into the fair by means of a NIO entry pass (and drove there with a NIO). It is questionable whether this action originated from NIO, or perhaps from a higher authority such as the party. The official media in China has repeatedly accused Tesla of blaming customers for accidents and of not paying attention to quality control. The Chinese state media Global Times called Tesla's attitude arrogant and overbearing. Tesla then apologized and promised full cooperation with the authorities. I doubt that the party wants to exclude Tesla from China, but it is safe to assume that they do not want to see their domestic carmakers stand no chance against the American. Perhaps they are trying to shake consumer confidence in Tesla through such targeted actions, and keep many people from buying the vehicles. Whatever the intention behind the Chinese state media's constant fire against Tesla, it is not good. You can't have a more dangerous enemy in China than China. submitted by /u/GordonGekkoVienna [link] [comments]

  45. AMD and Tesla team up! (01/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
AMD processors and graphics chips will be used in the infotainment systems of newly updated Tesla Model S and Model X electric cars, which are expected to go on sale in a few weeks. With AMD's more powerful chips, Tesla owners will be able to play cutting-edge video games in their cars—when they're not driving, of course–and see maps and other items in more detail. "The work (Tesla) is doing is truly pushing the leading edge of what you can put into a car," Su told Fortune in an exclusive interview before announcing the Tesla deal on Monday at the Computex computer show in Taiwan. She described the effort to make in-car dash systems as powerful as high-end PCs "part of the broader trend that computing is everywhere." 46. Thinking of buying Nio (02/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
As the title states, I believe in the EV market as it is clearly the future. ICE is on its way out and hydrogen is kind of a joke, long time Tesla fan and bull but know it won’t be the only EV maker that lasts. I want to buy Nio but other than share price I cannot find any reason it is greater than Tesla/ will grow more than Tesla in the future. Yes, they may be growing fast right now but so did Tesla and I believe this growth will slow once market share passes 15% in China. Someone please give me an actual reason, and not just negative shit comments, why Nio could grow to number one. submitted by /u/carsonthecarsinogen [link] [comments]

  47. This stock was created right around the crash of 2007 and immediately lost most of its value and yesterday lost more then 60% of its value (24/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMAS) along many other similar ones were created right around the crash of 2007 and immediately lost most of its value and yesterday, they lost more then 60% of their value. What is in these stocks? Mortgages? Do they think that people will start defaulting on their mortgages? https://i.imgur.com/Tbquauq.png https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/FNMAS?p=FNMAS There are about 30 stocks with nearly identical movement and name: https://i.imgur.com/Kbj232y.png submitted by /u/987warthug [link] [comments]

  48. Cathie Wood (ARK) is delusional. She is trying to manipulate the value of Tesla stock. (21/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
"Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest said it expects Tesla Inc’s share price to reach the $3,000 mark by 2025. Ark expects Tesla's market capitalization to reach as high as $4 trillion in the best-case scenario, according to a research note published here on Friday." Tesla stock is already overvalued +X8 times based on car sales. All future innovations for the next 100 years including Mars colonization are already factored in in Teslas massive overvaluation. Folks, Tesla will not be worth 4 trillion by 2025. That is ridiculus. She is just trying to manipulate the market. SEC should open a case against her. Tesla is not even worth $100 billions based on car sales and its balance sheet (net income) Tesla stock will lose more value. It will normalize in the $150-200 range by the end of the Spring season. If you own Tesla, take Cathie's desperate attempt to manipulate the market as a red flag, and realize your gains if you have any. Tesla is collapsing and even Elon Brother's sold a portion of his stock in the $800-900 range, Elon's family knows that TSLA will never reach $1,000 in the next 5 years. Cathie Wood's Ark expects Tesla stock to reach $3000 by 2025 submitted by /u/_bono983 [link] [comments]

  49. Have you ever lost so much money on a particular stock that you just refused to sell it out of principle? (12/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I am currently getting burned on the Greenwich Life Sciences ($GLSI) stock. I purchased 5 shares @ 62.80 a share now they are only worth 39.60 a share. Worst stock purchase I have made. I want to sell and cut my losses but this seems personal and I want some of the 120.00 dollars that I lost back. I just don't want to say that I lost 100 on a stock. It's like this stock is a person that owes me money. Has anyone else ever had this experience? submitted by /u/WuriderX [link] [comments]
