  5. Tip: Yahoo Finance (App) Is Awesome! (24/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I swear I’m not being paid to advertise. I have been using the Yahoo Finance website for the last while to keep track of some of my stocks (the ones I can’t get through my main broker because TD’s way of displaying data is needlessly convoluted). I just decided to download the app on IOS and it blew my mind because it put everything in one place. It lets you add a list of your favourite tickers so you can see them all on the same page in real time. After you create a list by adding your favourite stocks you can click on “list details” and there is even a customizable table where you can decide which details you want to see for your stocks (52 week high, day high, day low, volume, avg volume etc). It also lists upcoming earnings reports for your favourite stocks. And if you scroll down on any page it lists news articles related to the stocks on your list as well. Now, instead of doing frequent searches for all the stocks I’m following to get updates I can just sit back and let it all roll in (I’m still going to cross reference for a while because I don’t know how accurate they are). This is probably a bit random and I’m sure there are more experienced people who will scoff at this but it just made my day. submitted by /u/TheSqueezeHasSquozen [link] [comments]

  6. What news aggregators do you use? (03/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I'd like to know what news aggregators people use to stay up-to-date with the market. I'm less concerned with a service that focuses on providing you news for your portfolio or watchlist and more interested in a service that could inform me about stocks/stories that wouldn't normally be on my radar. I like this service as they list which stocks are being talked about most this week + this month, as well as which stocks are in the news more during those time periods. submitted by /u/Currie32 [link] [comments]

  9. Newbie Investor (15/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Hello people of the stock world, I've been doing my DD for the past few days and I made a list of what i want to have in my portfolio. Before I buy into them, however, i wanted to get any feedback or suggestions on those stocks and ETFs. I am aiming for medium risk, and i don't want it to be like a 3% yearly return from a saving account. I am still young and learning so I have time to win and lose. I'd say I'm looking for around 10% return per annum. The list of stocks I have in my list so far is below. The stocks are mostly blue-chip stocks, but I chose those from a list of around 30 stocks based on my research, Also, I know an etf can cover most of those stocks, but i feel like i can get more from having them individually unless I'm wrong in this aspect. - Stocks: Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Airbnb, square inc, alphabet, Netflix, PayPal, Shopify, NVIDIA, Amazon, Walt Disney. -ETFs: IUSA, HMCH, EQQQ, VUSA, MSCI, IH2O, VWRL, IUKD submitted by /u/Straight_Cold_5111 [link] [comments]

  11. a deep-dive analysis of media sentiment surrounding Bitcoin over the past 90 days (3/25-6/23) (25/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
We will analyze Bitcoin’s news conversation over the past 90 days, and determine whether it’s currently overhyped or if now is the time to snipe. In 2021 $BTC price has followed a head and shoulders pattern, starting the year at $30K, doubling to an elated peak of $63K per coin in mid-April, and falling back down to the $30K-$40K price range in recent weeks (the past 90 days are shown in the chart above). Some speculate that this puzzling performance is indicative of institutional manipulation (search “Wycoff BTC” on Twitter One thing is for sure over the past 90 days: Bitcoin has gone from an emotional high of significant optimism to one of the most pessimistic and fearful tickers on the internet, and it has taken the entire cryptocurrency market with it. As of today, the investor sentiment Fear & Greed Index points to “extreme fear” over the past 90 days Bitcoin news sentiment has trended definitively downwards, falling below the neutral line from optimistic to pessimistic just last week. Overall, $BTC was still more optimistic and less speculative than both the FAANG stocks and S&P 500 in the news over the last 90 days. we can see a clear correlation between the weekly price of Bitcoin and its news sentiment and time-sense. Bitcoin’s news sentiment showed a 0.496 correlation with price (considered significant), and Bitcoin’s news time-sense showed a -0.766 correlation with price (a strong correlation) over the past 90 days. news is more reactive and past-oriented when things are going good, but when things take a turn downwards, news articles tend become more speculative. So where does this leave us? This is the part of the report where we determine if Bitcoin is currently overhyped in the news (and due for a correction), or if it’s underhyped and time to put some money into it. We call this our Hype-Or-Snipe scale, Based on our analysis, we have determined that Bitcoin is currently SLIGHTLY undervalued in the news, and receives a Hype-Or-Snipe rating of +0.05. submitted by /u/babbldev [link] [comments]

  12. Shorted stock websites are inconsistent (08/09/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Hello all, kind of new to this. My question is this, I’m trying to learn about shorted stocks and so I’m searching for websites that list shorted stocks. Turns out many of them do not list the same stocks. Shouldn’t they all be getting the same information. I’m failing to realize what the difference is and why they are showing different stocks. Some of these shorted lists don’t have the popular meme stocks on them, some have them. Can anyone point me in the direction of a resource or a website that might be the most trusted. Thanks in advance for your help and advice. 15. Is it because of an increase in bond yields, a shift into smallcap/retail or something else? (08/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I started investing around late December. I looked at the holdings in QCLN and bought a few of my favorites in that list... tech stocks... APPL, ROKU, etc. The list of stocks is very long... but renewables, EV, and tech are pretty much what I invested in. This dip recently has made me suffer... I went from being up 40% to in the red overall. SO... is the bond yield news and the shift to small cap and retail the only reason this is happening? My plan is to just buy the dip in what in already invested in and let the dip run its course and wait long term to see my gains... do you all agree with this? submitted by /u/explosiv109 [link] [comments]

https://dividendmanager.wordpress.com/top-100-dividend-stocks-ranking/ All of them are overvalued right now. The only ones that might be worth buying are VZ and T. Is there a list that only includes dividend stocks that have dipped recently or far away from their all-time highs? Almost every website recommend you to buy stocks that have already peaked, and that's probably the worst way to beat the S&P 500. The only way to beat the S&P 500 is to find deep value and buying at the right time. submitted by /u/seacobs [link] [comments]

  20. July 2021 Stock Power Rankings (28/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I posted this in r/investing and people seemed to enjoy it so I figured I’d share it here as well: I did a lot of research this weekend trying to put together a good list for the best stocks to buy in July. Feedback and ideas are appreciated! Obviously we’re all not gonna have the same opinions but I think this list is a good guide. Let me know what ya think. I’m of the opinion that the market is going to rotate towards beaten down growth stocks but not the ones that are extremely high flyers. For example, some stocks that made the list are those such as AMD, SoFi, and Disney. I think the most controversial part of where I think the market is headed is in regards to Chinese companies. I am of the opinion that companies like JD.com, Alibaba and even though it didn't make my list, Baidu will see significant recoveries in the coming months. Although, I won't rule out the idea of them being value traps entirely and I could understand investor fears relating to them as their is so much uncertainty. Thanks for hearing me out and for any ideas you may have. https://www.fosterfinancialfreedom.com/post/stock-market-power-rankings-july-2021 submitted by /u/cakegourmand [link] [comments]

i'm 66% cash, and I want to make a shopping list. What's on your list that is actually cheap? my gut says this pullback has bottomed, or maybe one more bounce before liftoff for example, i had NVDA on my watchlist, but looking at the multiples, they're still way high. Not sure if this is considered cheap. Shit still seems expensive in spite of the 19% pullback. I mean maybe $500 should the the ATH, and $450 is actual fair value. ???? submitted by /u/pman6 [link] [comments]

  22. Here’s my list, thoughts? (27/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Good morning investors. To cut to the chase I’m at a crossroad. After a massive loss (for me) on GME and AMC, I told myself I need to stay out of stocks for a while. Well, I saved $3,500 to invest and I don’t feel right letting it get dusty in my checking account. Here’s the stocks currently on my list, I’m open for any suggestions. (I have separated my allotted money into sections, that’s why some relatively good stocks are at lower number figures) -$SPY - $600 -$VUG - $450 -$APPL - $375 -$DKNG - $400 -$CCL - $400 -$TRIP - $250 -$WH - $225 -$SPWR - $200 -$FSLR - $250 -$AXP - $350 These are all meant to be medium term plays. I’m thinking around a year taking profits at my own discretion. Thanks a lot, everybody submitted by /u/Hcrain99 [link] [comments]

  23. Why hasn't Robinhood still not received any form of punishment/fine when they restricted the buying on 50 different stocks back in January? (01/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
This article contains the list: https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/robinhood-expands-trading-restrictions-50-225241993.html I know other brokerages restricted GME/AMC. But Robinhood's restricted list was way bigger and included stocks such as AMD, AAL, BYND, GM, IPOE, MRNA, and SBUX. I had got into stocks in January 2021 as a new years resolution. Which was a couple weeks before the GME stuff and reddit trading was even all over the news. At the time I honestly thought the buying restriction was something a part of the stock market. As a few stocks had been getting suspended in trading in both buying/selling quite frequently prior to RH restrictions. Now that a couple months have passed looking back. Im honestly shocked RH didn't receive any type of fine/punishment for that. They limited the upside on 50 stocks while still leaving holders open to the full downside. I really hope that doesn't happen again. submitted by /u/WickedSensitiveCrew [link] [comments]

  28. The last 2 weeks have saw a lot of stocks double or even go higher. What is a way that we can find these stocks? How? Is it possible? (04/09/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Good evening everyone and thank you for taking the time to read my post. As the title suggests many stocks have doubled this week and last week. I have been banned on subs for naming tickers so I will know mention them here. You can message me, but the purpose of this post is so you too can be “The Genius”. Everyone wants to double their money right away, but do understand the risk associated with these stocks. Yes, you can double your money the same day or next day… but be ready to lose 50% as well.. So, I have 28 different watch lists.. The last time I actually counted was November of 2020, I had maybe 820 different tickers, and actually I had about 20 lists at that time. Over the last year I have edited/changed added lists and move some stocks…I say this because it is very important what I do next. It is also important to add something moving to a watch list of your choice. I believe I have over 1,100 to 1,200 tickers on all different watch lists. The US market has between 12-13,000 tickers so I actually have 10% of the market at my fingertips. I usually around 7AM wake up, read the news online, turn on CNBC.. Check Yahoo finance, CNBC site… Soon after I will cycle thru my different watch lists, some that I already know have volatile speculation. If the stock that morning is up 10%, or has volume that looks like it will 2x average daily volume, I move it over to a list I call “Plays”. Why 10%? I have traded very long and my rule is 10%, it may be hot money today….. Next I will check Yahoo finance, TD for premarket movers, same rule if it is up 10% or looks like double volume I will add it to my plays and another list…. All the stocks that doubled the past 2 weeks were already on lists, because they were previously up 10% on high volume….. yes, I know that is a lot of stocks, hence I have 1,200 tickers. But hey, that is the secret so next time something takes off you will already be watching it. Good luck. Comment or share thoughts. submitted by /u/UltimateTraders [link] [comments]

I can't say that I blame them as it seems like they're stopping what was specifically an exception for "essential" tech stocks. I don't have a list of all stocks that will be impacted, but a few others are mentioned in the article. As an aside, I find it interesting how the versions of Baba and Baidu on the HKSE climbed this morning and ended higher despite the news being out and then plummeted in the NYSE once it opened. That seems to be a trend lately. submitted by /u/Rumtumjack [link] [comments]

I put together this tier List of #stock market news sentiment over the month of August. How it works: I measured the optimism/pessimism/speculation expressed about each stock/crypto in new articles then aggregated their scores across all articles into a "bullish" rating for each ticker, and grouped them by percentile into the buckets you see below. Ticker Sentiment Tiers: most bullish: $JPM $LTC $GE $CRO very bullish: $SNDL $USDC $ADA $FE $IR pretty bullish: $AVGO $FIS $RTX $GS slightly bullish: $DKNG $SPWR $CLOV $RIOT neutral: $ABC $UPS $FOX $TGT $EOS slightly bearish: $CME $COST $EBAY $GPS $OCGN pretty bearish: $DOGE $ICE $PEP very: $CCI $EA $GM $PNC most: $TXN $DOW $PLUG $IP $SO $CB Source: 11,042 finance articles published across a variety of platforms (SeekingAlpha, Benzinga, Yahoo Finance, MarketWatch, The Motley Fool, 100+ others) Tickers must have a minimum of 20 articles to be included in the tier list https://preview.redd.it/a4gnjf9eqpj71.png?width=1617&format=png&auto=webp&s=49ebc34d35d73a8056cf8bf43bdc6d78a7f97c41 submitted by /u/babbldev [link] [comments]

  39. AFTER GME/AMC BECOME A BILLIONAIRE!!! (22/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
AFTER GME/AMC BECOME A BILLIONAIRE!!! The stock market as a whole will crash when gmc/amc pop, people with no clue will just bail. And when the market takes a nose dive it always OVER CORRECTS on the down, then bounces back, before it's back to business as usual. Over the history of the stock market EVERYONE that bought the dip of a big market drop came out of it WEALTHY. Now your saying, who the fuck cares, I have money ????????. But everyone loves more money, and this could be your one chance in a lifetime to buy quality stock at FIRE-SALE prices. And turn you into a person that could buy a house cash, to the person that can buy there own private island and private jet. DO THIS: make a list of quality stocks you would buy if only you had a chance to buy them on sale. Put this list aside for launch day. Don't wait to o this because when it's launch day your brain will be scrambled with emotions. At the right time, pull out your list and buy up these stocks with some of your winnings. See you on the other side. submitted by /u/State_Dear [link] [comments]

  40. Are the tips from stock-market websites really useful? (17/08/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
As many of you probably know, TipRanks, Seeking Alpha and similar websites actively share the latest stock recommendations from more or less known analysts. The general impression upon reading them is that we are being given a rather professionally elaborated set of info. But how do the recommended stock perform months later? Here I am analyzing the performance of stocks suggested in the articles published by TipRanks over the last year. I have chosen TipRanks because they have a very active mailing list with heaps of info. If I find some spare time, I might do the same type of check on other similar websites. So I have randomly selected a group of articles over the past year or so, and have checked the performance of each of recommended stocks. The last line under each article shows the performance of S&P 500 in the given time period (which spans between 4 to 9 months). Here we go: https://www.tipranks.com/news/article/jpmorgan-2-stocks-for-stellar-long-term-gains/ 4.1 months later, the performance of recommended stocks is: CTMX: -36% KALA: -62% S&P 500: +7% https://www.tipranks.com/news/article/analysts-say-these-3-stocks-are-their-top-picks-for-2021-4/ 4.3 months later, the performance of recommended stocks is: ASND: -5% ALVR: -21% WDC: -14% S&P 500: +8% https://www.tipranks.com/news/article/2-strong-buy-biotech-stocks-with-major-catalysts-approaching/ 4.7 months later: ARDX: -78% HRTX: -30% S&P 500: +11% https://www.tipranks.com/news/article/these-3-strong-buy-stocks-are-top-picks-for-2021-say-analysts/ 7 months later: TALO: -10% TWLO: -22% SIBN: -32% S&P 500: +15% https://www.tipranks.com/news/article/3-strong-buy-stocks-insiders-are-snapping-up-2/ 7.8 months later: VST: -5% GDYN: +85% ARVN: +4% S&P 500: +19% https://www.tipranks.com/news/article/billionaire-ray-dalio-picks-up-these-3-strong-buy-stocks/ 8.3 months later: BAX: -5% CVS: +19% DAR: +31% S&P 500: +22% https://www.tipranks.com/news/article/3-monster-growth-stocks-that-still-have-room-to-run-2/ 8.8 months later: BAND: -27 % W: +15% SDGR: -17% S&P 500: +22% The results of the above analysis look quite miserable: Only 2 of stocks recommended in the articles have outperformed the marked. Only 5 out of 19 suggested stocks have realized a gain to date, the rest of them are at loss. 11 out of 19 suggested stocks have lost more than 10% of the initial value. 8 out of 19 suggested stocks have lost more than 20% of the initial value. This leaves me quite puzzled about the usefulness of freely-available info from stock analysts. But I would like to hear your opinion as well - did you find their tips useful and follow their suggestions, and did you realize gains by doing so? Cheers submitted by /u/sslavi [link] [comments]

  45. How to automate buying and selling based on screener results? (17/08/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I have a stock screener setup that I really like. It typically kicks out about 20-50 stocks that I think seem interesting. Is there an easy way to automate buying and selling of the top 10 results once per day? As far as I can tell the screener doesn’t export the list in an excel or csv format but I could make that if needed. Then I would need some sort of interface to load this to and have it execute. If it’s already in the portfolio it would hold, new in list = buy $x amount, was in list yesterday but not anymore = sell. Then the process reflows once per day. Anyone here have a basic setup like this? How did you set it up? Do I need to learn a programming language? Any advice on where to start? submitted by /u/Any-Rise-6300 [link] [comments]

  46. How do I find what name a company is traded under if its not available on their website? (10/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Newbie here and Iv had this happen to me several tomes where I couldnt find the name that a company was traded under. For example I see whats on the news now with Colonial pipeline and if I want to see what their stocks doing I typed in Colonial pipeline as well as some other keywords/names on their websites affiliate list etc and nothing comes up. Is there a site that can help with this? I understand I could look it up but I did this before coming here and just news articles come up etc. What do you guys do if you hear about a company and want to look into it but cant find any information on its stock name? submitted by /u/VURORA [link] [comments]
