Expanding its program for returning capital to shareholders, Microsoft late Tuesday said its board voted to both boost its quarterly dividend and adopt a new share repurchase program. Microsoft (ticker: MSFT) raised its quarterly dividend rate by 11%, to 62 cents from 56 cents. It was the 12th straight year that the company has boosted its quarterly payout following its September board meeting. The new rate gives the company a yield of 0.8%. The hike follows increases of 10% last year and 11% in 2019. The company also announced a new $60 billion stock repurchase program, with no specific expiration date. Microsoft also said its board has appointed President Brad Smith to the added role of vice chair. “This reflects the unique leadership role that Brad plays for the company, our board of directors and me, with governments and other external stakeholders around the world,” Microsoft CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella said in a statement. 2. MSFT for long term (23/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Microsoft hit a $2 trillion market cap. I know the idea of a company being worth $2.5 or $3 trillion is kind of insane, but Microsoft continues to return major increases in revenue/profits annually; plus they control so much in the cloud space. Is there really a reason to believe that Microsoft would be a bad buy at this point? (Note: I already have MSFT shares, just curious if it is worth sticking with a buying pattern) submitted by /u/knights8154 [link] [comments]

I think Netflix should be replaced with Microsoft, considering Netflix has a much lower market cap than Microsoft, and the fact that Netflix isn’t as diversified in different sectors and products, like how Microsoft is. I just don’t think Netflix has as much to offer and that is doesn’t deserve to be in FAANG. If Microsoft were to replace Netflix is FAANG, what should FAANG’s new name be? FAAMG? FAGMA? submitted by /u/Kursk-1943 [link] [comments]

  9. Microsoft vs Facebook (28/08/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
As the title suggests, which stock do you think has more upside in the next 3-5 years? I’m holding Microsoft but I’m thinking of making a switch to Facebook due to its higher revenue and profitability growth. The only thing that worries me slightly is the regulatory risk for Facebook. Also, Microsoft is pretty stretched in its valuation in my opinion. submitted by /u/AlE833 [link] [comments]

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/11/microsoft-in-advanced-talks-to-buy-speech-recognition-company-nuance.html A deal could be announced as soon as Monday, said one person who is familiar with the talks. Microsoft first approached Nuance in December, the person said, and is willing to pay about $56 per share for Nuance, the person said. That would give Nuance an equity value of about $16 billion, representing a 23% premium over the stock’s Friday closing price of $45.58 per share. At $16 billion, Nuance would be Microsoft’s second largest acquisition, after the $27 billion purchase of LinkedIn in 2016. Microsoft just finished the Bethesda acquisition for 7.5 billion. It is talking to acquire Discord. Now it is acquiring Nuance for 16 billion. Microsoft really spending cash hoard to acquire potential companies to further strengthen the moats. It is already breaking 52 weeks high everyday. This year will be bright for Microsoft and the stock price will hit at least $300. submitted by /u/coolcomfort123 [link] [comments]

Hello I been Investing in dividend stocks (with around 2.5k in growth stocks, Apple and Microsoft) for a bit over a year and have a 14k portfolio with a 3% dividend yield. I will receive $393 in dividends per year that's 32.75 average per month. This feels pointless and I should just buy growth stocks in an Roth Ira or something because I will not have a significate amount of dividend that will make me feel like it was worth it any time soon( I do not want to wait 10-20 years before I get 1k per month or something.
