  22. Why Apple's iPhone 13 Could Be A 'Game Changer' With 1TB Storage Option, Lidar 12-month price target of $175, with the bull-case $225 (01/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
The iPhone supercycle that kickstarted with the launch of Apple Inc's AAPL 5.08% iPhone 12 will likely continue well into 2022, according to analysts at Wedbush Securities. The Apple Analyst: Daniel Ives has an Outperform rating on Apple and a 12-month price target of $175, with the bull-case price target at $225. The Apple Thesis: The next iPhone iteration, namely the iPhone 13, will likely be launched around September, Ives said. Initial Asia supply chain builds for iPhone 13 are in the 100-million-unit range compared to the firm's initial iPhone 12 reads of 80 million, he added. "While this number will clearly move around over the coming months, we believe this speaks to an increased confidence with Cook & Co. that this 5G driven product cycle will extend well into 2022 and should also benefit from a post-vaccine consumer "reopening environment," Ives wrote in the note. The iPhone 13 will likely have a 1 terabyte storage option, double that of the current highest Pro storage capacity, the analyst said. It will also include a number of enhancements, with Lidar across all iPhone 13 models. Therefore, the iPhone 13 could be a "game changer" indicating the supercycle party in Cupertino is going well in 2022. AAPL Price Action: At last check, Apple shares were rising 5.22% to $127.59. 30. GSAT: To the moon literally (31/08/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Globalstar(GSAT) rocketed 64% and the volume went bananas yesterday. For those blue Monday stoners that were too sleepy to read the news yesterday. Here's a quick version of what happened, more details will be covered after it. There’s a rumor that Apple’s new Iphone will be featuring satellite communication. And you guessed it, Globalstar is gonna be their partner. How legit is this “rumor” tho? ???? ---Promise or non-Sense?--- Spreads of the Rumor? Ming-Chi Kuo, an well-known Apple analyst, mentioned this in his client note: The new iPhone 13 is "likely" to support low earth orbit satellite communication. Kuo also mentioned Globalstar is most likely to partner with Apple. The company has an existing satellite phone network of 24 satellites in low Earth orbit. Kuo gathers info from his contacts in Apple's Asian supply chain, and most of his past predictions are accurate. Makes him one of the most reliable sources when it comes to rumors of Apple. - Globalstar - Qualcomm - Apple In February, GSAT announced its partnership with Qualcomm in n53 band of the new 5G X65 modem. They also announced signing an agreement with an unidentified party to develop a new service. On the other hand, Bloomberg also reported earlier that Apple CONFIRMED the satellite feature in the new iPhone without mentioning the collab brand. Now, we all know Apple has used Qualcomm’s chips for iphone 12, and Qualcomm's modems are used in nearly every high-end phone in the US. There’s a huge possibility that GSAT & Apple are partnering up. - FOMO or Actual good buy? Based on all the facts, there’s a big chance the rumor could be true, which could be seen as the rising action for GSAT. Satellite tech is just on its way to the moon - not just a meme stock nor some random hype. I believe this is the time to get on the ride and earn yourself some new Iphone money. submitted by /u/PositiveKarmaaa [link] [comments]

  31. Apple’s massive success with CarPlay paves the way for automotive ambitions. (30/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
'Apple introduced CarPlay in 2014 as a way to integrate the iPhone and a car’s dashboard. Since then, it’s become ubiquitous in new cars. Around the world, over 80% of new cars sold support CarPlay, Apple said last year. That works out to about 600 new models, including cars from Volkswagen, BMW, and Chrysler. Toyota, one of the longest holdouts, started including CarPlay in 2019 models. It’s also a top feature for many drivers and car buyers. Twenty-three percent of new car buyers in the U.S. say they “must have” CarPlay and 56% percent are “interested” in having CarPlay when buying a new vehicle, according to a 2017 Strategy Analytics study. When Ford’s highly anticipated electric F-150 goes on sale, it will support CarPlay. Apple was able to insert itself in between customers and car companies and make sure that its interface was the one that every iPhone user wants while driving. It’s an under-appreciated triumph for one of the world’s most successful companies. CarPlay doesn’t contribute direct Apple revenues or profits. But it ensures ongoing loyalty of iPhone users and gives Apple a pathway into the auto industry if it wants to expand.' 35. UBS upgrades AAPL to 'Buy,' raises price target on iPhone stability & auto opportunity (31/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Investment bank UBS has upgraded AAPL to a "Buy" and raised its price target to $142, based on a stable iPhone backdrop and the possibility of Apple entering the car market. In a note to investors seen by AppleInsider, lead analyst David Vogt says that a "more stable long-term iPhone demand backdrop with better [average selling prices]" and Apple's "likely entry into the auto market" are driving the UBS revision on AAPL shares. The analyst says that, based on analysis, aggregate iPhone demand in 2021 and 2022 should be relatively stable. He doesn't believe there's a "supercycle" materializing, but he did raise his 2021 iPhone shipment forecast to 220 million, up from 215 million. Looking ahead to 2022, Vogt also raised his 2022 iPhone shipment estimate to 215 million, up 10 million. He attributes the bump to the "stickiness of the iPhone ecosystem." https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/03/31/ubs-upgrades-aapl-to-buy-raises-price-target-on-iphone-stability-auto-opportunity submitted by /u/chrisdh79 [link] [comments]

  37. Apple Suppliers That Could Benefit New iPhone Models (10/08/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
W?ith Apple‘s iPhone typical fall launch is fast approaching, details about the device’s new capabilities have started to leak out. As consumers and gadget fans pore over the tidbits for taste of what Apple’s (ticker: AAPL) latest pocket computetr will have in store, chip investors too are scrutinizing the trickle of information. In a Tuesday report, Bloomberg News said the new Apple phones will feature new video and camera features, a faster Apple-designed chip to power the gadget, and new screen technology. Apple will keep the same iPhone dimensions and designs as last year’s models, the report said. Based on the scarce available details, the exact makeup of the guts of the next line of iPhones is highly speculative at this point. But, investors know a few things already based on past designs and the bare-bones description. One of the biggest changes in recent memory was the iPhone’s adoption of 5G technology, requiring a batch of new chips to support the fast uplink speed. For many phones, including Apple’s, that tended to mean much more silicon overall, which was good news for the chip makers that supply Apple with parts. For the 5G modems themselves, the iPhone 12 contained chips made by Qualcomm (QCOM), which suggests it too will likely supply the iPhone’s 5G wireless chip—at least for now. Apple has reportedly launched its own effort to design wireless radios, so that may change in the future. The chip giant has made other chips for the iPhones such as power modules. Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) and Qorvo (QRVO) make radio-related iPhone components, too, and have both been historic suppliers. Broadcom (AVGO) also has made wireless chips and other iPhone components. Barclays chip analyst Blayne Curtis has staked Qorvo has his favorite of the batch of Apple suppliers he watches. For the new camera, it’s possible Texas Instruments (TXN) could play a role, as it has supplied the power-management chip for previous iterations of the iPhone camera. Its chips that help with battery-charging have also been spotted in past phones. Memory-wise, according to an iFixit teardown, the last iPhone used random access memory made by Micron Technology (MU). Micron has said the 5G upgrade cycle has benefited it because new generation phones typically carry more RAM than their 4G counterparts. The iPhone 12’s flash storage was produced by closely held Kioxia Holdings, a Japanese memory maker that has been considering an initial public offering in recent months. We know Apple is designing the chips that power its phones, and has for several generations, effectively cutting out Qualcomm from the processor part of iPhone revenue. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM), has made the chip in the past, and it is all but certain to be making the latest iPhone processors. Source: Barron's Some of the semi stocks mentioned in this article are still worth to buy. qcom, tsm, mu, skws and qrvo are all trading between 20 to 30 pe. The revenue growth for these stocks are still attractive. With apple releasing the new iphones at September, these stocks will definitely benefit from the ongoing 5G trend. submitted by /u/coolcomfort123 [link] [comments]

  40. Apple iPhone Will Feature 'Unibody' Design In 2022, 'Periscope Lens' In 2023: Analyst $AAPL (09/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Shivdeep Dhaliwal , Benzinga Staff Writer Apple Inc’s AAPL 3.53% smartphones are set to get camera upgrades in 2022 and 2023 that will make them more robust and increase their shooting capability, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, AppleInsider reported Tuesday. What Happened: The iPhone will come with a “unibody” design in 2022 which will integrate the voice coil motor of its camera and the lens array, according to Kuo. This move could free up internal space in the device and increase the robustness of the smartphone made by the Tim Cook-led company, according to AppleInsider. Apple plans to add a telephoto camera on its high-end iPhones from a 6P lens array to a 7P stack in 2022 as well. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant is reportedly planning to move all its rear-facing iPhone lenses to the 7P stack in the coming years. The analyst said that, in 2023, Apple will introduce a telephoto lens design to the iPhone. This type of design helps to extend the focal length of a compact lens array, as per AppleInsider. Why It Matters: Kuo had previously made the prediction regarding the telephoto lens design and given a timeline of 2022. According to Kuo, Apple will also fine-tune iPhone’s optics this year and make the move from glass to plastic cover materials for Face ID. The company also plans to add a new telephoto lens to its high-end models which will come with a 6P lens stack, an improvement from the 5P design found currently, as per Kuo. The Apple Thesis: After a stellar December quarter, when Apple managed to crush iPhone estimates, some cuts in the iPhone forecasts for fiscal year 2021 were discounted by the market, Ives said in a note. This is reflected in the stock's sell-off over the last month, the analyst said. Wedbush's Asia checks are markedly bullish, suggesting over 230 million units for 2021, he said. The initial build forecast for the iPhone 13 indicates the supercycle will continue into fiscal year 2022, Ives said. "Geographically speaking, demand in China looks strong coming out of the Chinese New Year and remains a linchpin to our Apple bull thesis." The analyst also sees continued uptick in ASPs due to a higher mix of the iPhone Pro and Pro Max, with the Mini being significantly scaled down around production/demand globally. With a $3-trillion valuation in sight for Cupertino, the recent sell-off in share creates a golden buying opportunity, according to Wedbush. AAPL Price Action: Apple shares lost 0.91% in Wednesday's session, closing at $119.98. submitted by /u/folkwoodswest [link] [comments]
