So I had MTTCF(OTC) which spiked amazingly when it was announced that it will be listed on the Nasdaq exchange under ticker (MITC). The price has since crashed. I am unsure if I should continue holding the ticker MTTCT or change to MITC? Does this happen automatically? 11. Why is afterhours trading even a thing? (25/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hey, i'm new to the investing life and I just keep wondering why afterhours trading even is a thing? Most regular investors doesn't have the ability to trade after hours so we just sit there and watch the stock go up or down and powerless to do literally anything at all while institutions and rich people are allowed to trade freely? How come it works like this? Edit: I see that you can get access to after hours trading, but again - why is that even a thing? Why not restrict the trading between 08-16 or just allow everyone to purchase/sell during after hours? I live in Sweden so I invest through something called an "Investeringssparkonto" which you tax like 0,375% on the total value of the account and instead of 30% of the profits and we can't trade during AH with those accounts. submitted by /u/pm_me_you_in_latex [link] [comments]

  19. SNDL up 8% AH on not great Q1 Report? (12/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Does anyone else feel like they are taking crazy pills lately? Why would these Q1 Financials cause such a large spike in the After Hours when, from what I understand, it's generally bad news? Sundial Growers (NASDAQ:SNDL): Q1 Net loss of C$134.45M. Net loss, so not good. Revenue of C$9.89M (-29% Y/Y) Also not good. Adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations was $3.3 million (+129% Y/Y) This must be the key, but to be fair I don't really know what I means? Help? The Company sold 3,989 kilogram equivalents of cannabis in the first quarter of 2021, a 45% decrease over the previous quarter sales of 7,247 kilogram equivalents. 45% Decrease in Sales doesn't seem like a good thing either. 22. I unveil the simple strategy that allows me and a lot of traders to make at least 10% profits on single quick trades with examples - $BNTC $IHT $WISH (16/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Please, before using this strategy, use it with simulated trading so that you can master it. Hi everyone, I posted this strategy weeks ago on another subreddit. But since there was a lot of interest under my weekly watchlist post I decided to post this strategy here as well! Charts are from May 17. "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."ù The Strategy I'll try to keep everything simple and explain how to trade using this strategy. Every day after the market closes: Look for stocks that made a big move up during after hours (at least 10%), see why they're moving and if it's because of news add them to your stock watchlist A Look for stocks that made a big move down during market hours (at least 15%), see why they're moving and if it's because of news add them to your stock watchlist B The next day 1 hour before the market opens: Check stock prices in watchlist A and keep only those that have cooled down in after-hours pre-market Check stock prices in watchlist B and keep only those that made a move up of less than 5% in after hours and pre-market What now? Usually the stocks that are left from the A watchlist will make another big run in the first hour of the market before cooling off again, you have to ride them for a quick buck. Usually stocks left in the B watchlist will bounce and start to rise slowly during the day creating a good daily trading opportunity, chart them and set your stop losses and take profits on historical supports EXAMPLES Case 1 $BNTC - GOOD TRADE - EXAMPLE OF WATCHLIST A On Wednesday during the after hours I noticed that BNTC was making a huge run and I shared the chart with some friends noting: "If it cools off in premarket tomorrow we have a potential runner". The next day, an hour before the market opened, it cooled down and looked like this, and as you can see right after that when the market opened it did another 25% run before cooling down again. A beautiful quick trade. BNTC CHART Case 2 $IHT - BAD TRADE - EXAMPLE OF WATCHLIST A On Thursday during after hours I noticed that IHT was making a huge run and added it to my watchlist A, the next day I checked again and it was still up so I removed it, but a lot of traders due to FOMO ended up buying at the market opening and losing money as there was a lot of selling pressure from traders taking profits from the day before. IHT CHART Case 3 $WISH - GOOD TRADE - EXAMPLE OF WATCHLIST B Wednesday during after hours I noticed that WISH plummeted 30% during the day and added it to my B watchlist. The next day I checked again and it was slowly rising during the pre-market and I shared it with the members of my discord. Indeed, as predicted, it rebounded and on Friday made a 20% move! WISH CHART Conclusion By putting this strategy into practice you will learn which news is good to trade and which is not, when to buy and when not to, etc. If you need help I always reply to all private messages here and I would appreciate if you would follow me here on reddit so you can see all my future posts here! I hope you'll master this strategy and appreciate my work! And check my old posts for more daytrading examples! submitted by /u/YahyaJ [link] [comments]

  24. Top 5 companies by insider trading activity over the past month (24/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
The point is that senior employees of public companies are required to make their transactions public. It seems to me that this is an important market indicator - if the CEO of a large company sells most of his stock or buys more, this indirectly determines the company's performance and the mood of employees. Of course, insider trading based on non-public information is illegal. However, when the company's employees buy or sell its shares in large quantities, it is completely legal and an important indicator of its affairs. I’ve been collecting information from Nasdaq and other official sources. Then I aggregated it by months and got two lists as a result - the first is the top 5 companies by insider buying activity and the second is top 5 by insider selling activity. So, top 5 companies by insider buying activity for the last month: 1. $ATSG (Air Transport Services Group) $ATSG 2. $PZZA (Papa John's International Inc.) $PZZA 3. $EXPI (eXp World Holdings Inc.) $EXPI 4. $PFSI (PennyMac Financial Services Inc.) $PFSI 5. $ALDX (Aldeyra Therapeutics Inc.) $ALDX I will post the second list with the top 5 companies by insider selling activity later in a separate post, if you like this topic. I entrust the analysis of the reasons for such peaks in insider activity to commentators - some are quite obvious, others are not. Your thoughts? submitted by /u/vilnitskiy [link] [comments]

  26. Documenting my trading/semi-investing style. Looking for feedback and maybe a create a wiki of sorts for different investing styles. (02/09/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Context - Not a finance savvy guy, have been trading/investing for a while and have interest in markets in general. I depend on multiple Experts & community for analysis. This post is also more of a documentation for me, so that i can evolve the process for better. This strategy is specifically for one of my brokerage ac (its theme is aggressive, tech oriented trading) Steps in vetting a ticker: Keep an updated bucketed watchlist of stocks in Webull. (source the names from fin-twit folks, news, price movement from stock screeners) Find a stock of interest from the watchlist - say it was beaten up bad due to an earning or news or geo-politics (looking at you chinese dumptruck of companies) Check MorningStar for their Analysis and Fair-Value Check ValueLine for their Rankings, projection. (3 & 4 - a library card would most likely give you a subscription) Check SimplyWallst for valuation and that good looking snow-flake graph. Optional check quiverquant for any interesting data points - Politicians Trading, Institutional investor interest, WSB spike. SeekingAlpha - look up the ticker and read the crowd comments for blind spots, street info. If convinced, put the stock in a "Important" list to closely look and buy if necessary. Timeline is based on how that ticker or market is behaving. Dropped bad ? Sell put for that sweet iv. No extreme movements ? Leap - months or year in. Not sure ? Buy stocks for a set $ and watch. None of the above service needs a paid subscription, you can always work your way around it. (adblockers, library cards, free user account) What would you change on the above, looking for more ideas. submitted by /u/omcstreet [link] [comments]

  28. Busy work life. Difficult to stay up to date on stock market public company news - helpful solution SymbolNews. (03/04/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I have a long watchlist of companies I follow in the stock market. The problem is that my day job keeps me very busy and at the end of each day I barely have any time to stay up to date on market news for the companies I follow. I am always lagging behind on major company news that affects the stock market. For example: Tesla had a recall on tens of thousands of cars Peloton acquires 3 companies Salesforce acquires Slack for about $30 billion. I used to always be late on this news until I found SymbolNews. I wrote down the companies in my watchlist and it notifies me with the latest company news articles whenever the ticker moves by a lot on a given day. This way I am not lagging behind on public company news. https://symbolnews.com/ submitted by /u/robfather141 [link] [comments]

  29. How is this even possible not to be going up daily (14/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Day after day, report after report. Semiconductor shortages worldwide are halting production of anything that uses a computer chip technology to function. The largest manufactures in the world across almost every sector in the world are shutting down and slowing production because they can’t get chips. So my question is, we have always been told about supply and demand. Why are semiconductor companies not going through the roof faster than meme stocks. Fundamentals would dictate if you have more business than you can handle and can sell every chip you make for the next 3-5 years just to catch up, your sales and Profits would exceed predictions. This would cause the stock prices to rise. This isn’t happening and it’s confusing why not. The largest chip manufactures are all building multi billion dollar expansions to keep up with the shortage and demand. So why are chip stocks trading sideways and down in some instances with them making the most desired products worldwide. submitted by /u/stocksnhoops [link] [comments]

  32. How do you generate trade /investment ideas? (10/07/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Been watching a lot of Anton Kriels videos online, and clearly from their perspective idea generation is fundamental. That trading institute he set up, I swear it’s just set up to milk people for ideas, like loads of little tentacles all over the place. Understanding the world and predicting tomorrow I guess sums it up, or even buy the rumour sell the news. But how do you do that? you follow the news and keep track of world events but how do you predict the next thing? I heard a few successful people saying how they just noticed something was popular and got into it early. One example I remember was this guy and he noticed that his daughter and all her friends were obsessed with Ugg boots so decided to invest in it. Maybe Roblox was a similar thing for some people. So how do you do it? I don’t want to join til tok but seems like a smart place to go :D submitted by /u/haveyouseencyan [link] [comments]

  33. Brokers and Tools, the beginning (21/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Taken some notes over the last week and half after doing some very basic, high level research into live streaming traders. I'll share my notes here which are very brief on the subject of brokerages and tools. I currently have a WeBull and a RH account. I need to figure out what to do with the RH account, it only has a couple hundred but I want to get it out of there into whichever broker I ultimately end up with. I know there's a transfer option that allows you to keep your positions but there's a fee and the transfer period is a couple weeks. I wonder if I should liquidate since it's only a couple hundred anyway. I've already decided against ToS, which I know is popular but I was watching a live trader having trouble, on many days, cancelling and filling limit orders at the price he wanted. I think most of these will be out of reach because of commissions until I build up my account which I plan to do very slowly. I will start out paper trading which I hope to do on the same software I do live trades so I'm already familiar with the software. Ultimately any tool needs a dark mode since I have eye floaters that don't show up if I'm viewing a darker background. =trader1 charts (esignal) broker (speedtrader) or lightspeed stock scanners (trade-ideas) stock news (social media, streaming news) esignal focus on 5min or 1 min charting time frames use very few tech indicators in esignal (no lag) also use tas marker profile indicators brokers: speedtrader - high speed executions level 2 is critical scanning tools trade-ideas streaming news feed he uses benzinga pro for the Squawk Box feature gives live market news including volume spikes, stock halts, take over speculation, etc. =trader 2 tradestation for broker trade ideas unbelievable scanner =trader 3 esignal not sure what else he uses, if I provide the name of the trader and a link maybe someone can tell me. he doesn't say outright say what he uses but has a lot of success =trader 4 interactive brokers, centerpoint, cmeg, speedtrader DAS is only platinum nasdaq partner, everyone else is silver (like speedtrader) or bronze (like boa) *DAS simulator, good because trading in a simulator/paper trading program submitted by /u/untempered_schism [link] [comments]

Anyone have any insight into SOFI Q2 earnings were good and closed at around 17.41ish then got bombed afterhours. Was it short term traders riding the earnings wave then hopping out or did a whale or MM drop a large portion of their shares? AVG was about 13,600,00 and yesterday we saw 60mil and today we are seeing 50+mil is there something going on behind the scenes that I might not be seeing. This looks like a good buying opportunity and I already pulled the trigger this morning for an AVG of about 15.10. Just putting this out to probe the waters and see if there is any news or research that I may have missed, Earnings seemed like all good news. submitted by /u/Kjohnstonuscg [link] [comments]

  40. How to actively manage a watchlist and information? (22/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hi all, I’m hoping I can get some advice on how to actively manage my stock watchlist. Without getting to deep, I am primarily a US stock swing trader with a small (~5k) portfolio, though I also invest a good portion of my $$ into ETFs & lower risk/reward funds. I work part time and it’s lucrative enough to pay the bills and give me a bit of extra $$ to invest. I’ve been splitting my spare time between learning and trading. My strategy up to this point has been creating a spreadsheet of ~120 companies who’s charts I check every 1-3 days (depending on momentum of the trend), and never go longer than 2 weeks without checking a company’s chart. I spend 4-5 hours on weekdays reading charts & news, and journaling my arguments as to which way companies will move. However, I am starting to get a bit burnt out because I am constantly seeing new tickers, news, and significant movement within different market sectors. I am having trouble connecting all the dots and organizing information for the companies in my watchlist. I believe they all have merit, but I am getting overwhelmed trying to keep track of all the moving parts within. Right now, I use TD to trade & paper play, TradingView to chart and journal, Excel to keep track of my watchlists & when to check. I also use website like the S&P heat map, an economic calendar, and greed/fear gauge for news & overall market observation. I also use a trading discord but only listen to people I know are informed & reliable. I guess I feel overwhelmed by my strategy’s time frame / deadlines and the amount of potentially pertinent information I receive. I’d be grateful to hear from anyone with similar experience or understanding that could offer any tips, tricks, or advice in general. submitted by /u/HalfEpic [link] [comments]

  41. Morning Update for Friday, 09/03/21 (03/09/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Good morning everyone. Have a nice Friday, and then enjoy the weekend! This list is geared towards day trading. With the momentum watchlist especially, I am typically in and out very quickly, only occasionally longer than a couple minutes, usually faster scalps. Always have a plan when you enter a trade (for profit taking and for taking a loss), and use proper risk management for your account. Main Watchlist: Gapping UP: UPST XP FUBO PD TTCF DIDI Gapping DOWN: JOAN AGIL FCUV JOBY Market Outlook: Stocks are looking to open slightly higher to end the week. The markets only seem to want to go higher. We should be getting the monthly jobs report, and this will likely influence whether or not tapering happens sooner rather than later. Because of this, we could see some kind of reaction from the market. With concerns about growth slowdown, we could see some volatility in the near future. In other news, Beijing is said to be seeking to take Didi under state control, I'll be watching for any more news on this. SPY is trading a bit under 454, we could see some volatility to end the week. DIA is trading just over 355, and looks like it could be ready to push to new ATH in the near future. Pretty solid support level at 354 for the time being. QQQ is trading a bit under 381, it could try to find support today at the 380 level. Gold, silver, and crude oil are all up this morning. B**coin is currently trading around 50,200. I'll be watching action around the 50,500 resistance area. If it breaks through, it could see some more upwards movement. Cr**to-related stocks are up a bit in premarket trading as a result. Airlines and cruise stocks have been consolidating in recent trading sessions, and I think the next couple days will be important. I'll be watching closely for any news that would potentially affect reopening plays. I'll also be keeping an eye on the meme stocks, as sometimes things get exciting at the end of the week. Remember to use proper risk management, by making sure you size appropriately for your account and have a plan for every trade you enter (both for taking profits and cutting losses). Happy trading everyone :) submitted by /u/vanturetrading [link] [comments]

  42. FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) Hints at Hydrogen Announcement (13/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
https://www.autosport.com/general/news/fia-hints-at-hydrogen-announcement/6219993/ This was originally posted in F1 news. It got me thinking about PLUG's relationship with Renault (one of the F1 engine producers) and what this could mean for PLUG. Sounds like there could be a huge leadership position for Renault and PLUG purely based on market position and production capacity. I find this particularly interesting because F1 is well known to act as R&D for car manufactures and have significant impacts on the future development of commercial vehicle technology. I'm wondering if this is a catalyst for hydrogen technology and a future investment and development of the sector. I could be reading into this but thought I would post for some discussion of smarter people than I. submitted by /u/climbingtime [link] [comments]

  43. Who will profit from current shortages in production? (28/07/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
No matter what is happening in the world, someone will profit from it. Currently because of the pandemic, production of goods across the board is suffering. Slowed production of microchips and other tech components stall production of cars and phones, etc. Even things like telescopes and guitars and seemingly almost everything is in short supply and high demand. The obvious question, how do you profit from this? Someone will, but I’m not smart enough to know how, and hoping someone here has ideas about where to invest in these circumstances. submitted by /u/Latvia [link] [comments]

  44. Do I have to put up with overnight fees and margins when trading long-term? (05/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I’m still relatively new to trading and this is something I don’t really understand. It seems unlikely to me, that to hold for half a year for example, you would have to pay a fee every single day and live with knowing that your position could just be closed ar any point because of margins. I thought i understood how things worked and then i opened a demo account on capital.com (because i’m still looking for a platform that works well for me) and it’s as if it was something completely different. Am i missing something? Or is the context the same for day and long-term trading? I appreciate any help in this matter and would be thankful for platform suggestions you may have as well.
