  2. “You should never have to exercise options.” Was incorrect in this situation to exercise my put option? (27/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I had $1.50 SNDL put options where my break even was 1.35. SNDL options are bought and sold in .05 increments. I came in at 0.15. When SNDL briefly reached 1.30 there were buyers at 0.20. On the day of expiration I noticed that SNDL had over a million buyers 1.31. The price of the stock would go down to 1.31 and was propped up by buy all these buys at 1.31. The option was worth 0.18 but the increments for sale are 0.05. I had a sell order for 0.20, but there were no buyers all day. I could have easily sold the option for 0.15 to break even, but instead I exercised by buying 10000 shares at 1.31 and selling at 1.50. I was able to make the difference minus the premium on the put option. It was only about $75. If I held the option to expiration does that $0.05 increment still apply? The option was worth 0.18, but there were no buyers at 0.20. Is this way I should have handled it? submitted by /u/wiserone29 [link] [comments]

  4. SNDL (12/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
SNDL traded more than 3 billion shares today. This number is huge and four times it’s 20 day average. Europeans bought large quantities. 100 million new shares issued today. SNDL is now debt free. Where is the stock going from here? They are coming to America. States are legalizing recreational use. Biden administration is on board. Democrats are high. Public is at home getting high. Are we headed to $5 what about $10 what about $15? SNDL is likely going to earn $120 million in Canada ???????? this year. What about America? The sky is the limit. Competition is fierce. One thing is for sure stock prices at $2.5 or $3.00 or $4 are going to be history soon as we climb. Buy and tuck away in your drawers next to the weed and use the money in retirement. Florida ???????? awaits. submitted by /u/RobertTheQ [link] [comments]

  5. SNDL Proposed And NDVAF Said Yes! (16/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
SNDL has died. Long live SNDL. Meaning that SNDL is a brand new spanking company. Paid off all of its debt. Sits on 300 million dollars in cash. Operates a thriving pot biz. Loaded with inventory, customers, grower inputs, employees and know how. Today SNDL bought 25 million shares in NDVAF a leading Canadian pot edibles company. Result is now NDVAF is totally debt free too. My guess is that we have witnessed the first step of a merger lol. Two smallish Canadian pot companies join forces to tackle a huge expanding pot market. 4.8 million shares of NDVAF traded today. It closed at .54 cents. Picked up 5000 shares of these cheapo bad boys today. This is free money. For all of those shorts in SNDL the noose is tightening... If my fellow Einsteins want profits then now is the time to load up.... Invest in one or both. Elevator is headed up... All aboard....???????????????????????????????????????????????? submitted by /u/RobertTheQ [link] [comments]

  6. Is there any hope for SNDL? (13/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I bought into SNDL at $3.94 2 days ago. I did not realize that thus ticker was the subject of a pump and dump when I decided to take a position, I had been watching the graph, performed a small DD and had been reading that it would be good to go long. Yesterday it "corrected" and down -50%. After a bit more research I've arrived at a point where I'm conflicted. I was under the impression that this stock was undervalued, yet I'm finding it impossible to conclude that SNDL will appreciate to the price of $3.94 and beyond anytime soon, if at all. I'm willing to hold, at least for a month to try to recoup my losses. What are your thoughts on this stock? I realize bow it had been targeted and I will make sure I add this to my research before making a play like this again. I'm wondering if anyone thinks this stock is bound for $4 or better in the near future, or should I cut my losses, reasses and invest whats left into a less volatile ticker? What are your thoughts? submitted by /u/Army-Jazzlike [link] [comments]

  7. 2/10: SNDL Deep Dive Analysis (11/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
2/10: SNDL Deep Dive Analysis SNDL is catching up to where we thought it should should be a few months ago, $2-3 range before additional news. PathwayRX had some good news yesterday (SNDL owns 50% PathwayRX). Consolidation in these levels is impressive for 1.27B volume as this volume analysis chart shows, should lead to some stability at these levels. Still a buy for me, but use caution. I am struggling to find accurate short sale data for SNDL but from what I can tell, shorting increased yesterday despite the climb In prices. Sundial operates as Canadian Cannabis company. The sector is currently increasing across all symbols due to global expansion and legalization in multiple countries. The price has increased 10x in three months, which makes it extremely unknown at these levels. Please consider my DD as personal assessment and opinion. Consolidating with bids stacking and small ASK walls, at this price level!? Although the chart maintains a healthy look you have to wonder after this much gain in a short time... This company works in the CBD industry and has had great partnerships and licensing, with most positive news still ahead Some unknowns with current revenue. submitted by /u/OfficerTruth [link] [comments]

about 2-3 days ago my robinhood account was authorized and i was able to trade. i was super excited and started researching. i found that cannabis was doing really good so i got myself into ogi and sndl. in the first day i was up $70 at one point and i was so happy! but then it went all down hill yesterday. i lost $70 and sold all of it this morning out of fear of it going down further. i just don’t know what to do. i know it’s only $70 but it feels like so much to me and i’m just so unmotivated and i feel like shit. and then to top things off, sndl rose a bit so i would of only lost like $40, idk. submitted by /u/Brocklicious [link] [comments]

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I tried Googling it with no success: If I buy a company's stock at multiple time points over several years and then decide to sell a portion, am I taxed with the IRS assuming I sold the oldest stock first or is it based off of when I last added that companies stock to my portfolio? For example, if I buy 10 shares of a stock each month, and then in 3 years after I started buying I decided to sell 100 of those shares -- does the IRS tax it as short term or long term capital gains? submitted by /u/AmericanFlagManThong [link] [comments]

  20. $420.69 technical analysis (14/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I love what we are doing to the stock market. This is pure gold guys. Thank you for the entertainment. I don’t know if coke and strippers is better than this at this point because it’s been hell entertaining. This is definitely way better than watching a movie at a theater lol(though save AMC right?). Is anyone else noticing how many stocks get stuck at .69 cents or $420? $4.20? $69.69? Seems like 1:2 stock trades ends in a .69, whether it’s at $1.69, $69.69, or $100.69. I watched SNDL get stuck multiple times on $2.69 and TLRY stuck at $42.00 or $42.69. GME got stuck at $420.69 for a while. This is pure gold. However, I did shoot myself in the foot on a stock because I bought it for $6.90 years ago and every time it climbs up it stops at $6.90. I don’t know if that one will ever make me a dime or if I just should sell for even. Personally I prefer to 68 instead of 69. You go down on me and I’ll owe you one. Keep up the 69’ing guys! submitted by /u/PUTYOURBUTTINMYBUTT [link] [comments]

  22. $SNDL ????UPDATED DUE DILLIGENCE & RESEARCH FOR 2/11 (12/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
WHAT"S UP ALL. It's Fluent In Finance back with the update on $SNDL you've been waiting for. I've been getting so much positive feedback from you all for covering $SNDL, I enjoy these evening posts. You know the drill, upvote this to spread awareness. Also feel free to join the facebook group & discord chat so we can all learn & earn together: https://www.flowcode.com/page/fluentinfinance For those of you who saw my DD from 2 weeks ago, and got to get in on this at 70 cents, congrats! My DD from 2 weeks ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/pennystocks/comments/l98xzl/due_diligence_sndl_im_back_with_part_2_18/ SO $SNDL had another crazy day. Like I predicted, all the attention it generated from the media (CNBC, Business Insider, etc.), it caught the attention of pumpers & dumpers, high frequency traders, day traders, algos & hedge funds. I hope some of you were able to realize profits. I was also pretty close on my prediction that FOMO would drive this to $5, so I hope some of you who have gotten in on this before this week, were able to profit. My DD from yesterday with these predictions: https://www.reddit.com/r/SNDL/comments/lhaxcx/sndl_dd_due_diligence_research_for_210_my_updated/ So what happened to $SNDL today? $SNDL gained some momentum on reddit. Other people started to take notice. People see quick gains in short time, so started to buy lots of call options at high numbers, hoping to profit. Hedge funds picked up on this, and bought PUTS against these pumped up stocks Facts Around 3 billion shares of $SNDL exchanged hands today. 3 BILLION!! (2,956,070,892 to be exact.) Oh, and 2.54 million option contracts too A whopping 60% of the shares traded today were shorted: https://preview.redd.it/r7wslz6alyg61.png?width=936&format=png&auto=webp&s=e7903b0ed1b959c2333601b42782315aed776b52 Google Trends - Interest over time: It looks like interest in googling $SNDL has dramatically decreased from yesterday. This is usually a good indicator on when Tom, Dick and Harry are having FOMO and don't want to miss out: https://preview.redd.it/vdzmjc9flyg61.png?width=1153&format=png&auto=webp&s=5257c8b2a8a6c10d49c4d4ce32a7349a5e95d3d2 The Put/Call ratio is high af at 0.77. This tells me that "Wall Street" does not like the stock: https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/SNDL/options?moneyness=allRows https://preview.redd.it/jb43cnhjlyg61.png?width=592&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d2aa50104b9bce8ccad1e3ee61e408776018b85 Things to keep in mind: Day 9 of Nasdaq compliance Held above $2 on its worst day (support?) Weed is still being legalized (good news can move the stock) Technicals You can argue, long term we are at 20 rsi with over 100 CCI, so there is more room to run. The chart indicators are overall bullish: https://preview.redd.it/yt2r9d7nlyg61.png?width=167&format=png&auto=webp&s=1f8c2e042fb36ed999d3c442a6653aae5e316d4b https://preview.redd.it/9qau6r7qlyg61.png?width=714&format=png&auto=webp&s=31a507c04acd04ed0dc829d245c5a37e1ecdca7d https://preview.redd.it/r21hbyurlyg61.png?width=349&format=png&auto=webp&s=dfae0b72208bd44726bd75f1bd4db0f7ae0d43ab Probability! 23. SNDL up 8% AH on not great Q1 Report? (12/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Does anyone else feel like they are taking crazy pills lately? Why would these Q1 Financials cause such a large spike in the After Hours when, from what I understand, it's generally bad news? Sundial Growers (NASDAQ:SNDL): Q1 Net loss of C$134.45M. Net loss, so not good. Revenue of C$9.89M (-29% Y/Y) Also not good. Adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations was $3.3 million (+129% Y/Y) This must be the key, but to be fair I don't really know what I means? Help? The Company sold 3,989 kilogram equivalents of cannabis in the first quarter of 2021, a 45% decrease over the previous quarter sales of 7,247 kilogram equivalents. 45% Decrease in Sales doesn't seem like a good thing either. Why would it spike, is there something I'm missing? submitted by /u/AvalieV [link] [comments]

So correct me when I'm wrong, but I understand the concept of hedge funds short selling a stock to make money when/as it drops yes? But what's the general interpretation or thoughts on a stock when hedge funds are buying it up. For instance I know of a stock I've been researching and noticed in my findings a number of hedge funds buying/investing into a stock. Just goes to show they think it will do well? 27. What is the foundation for stock prices? (18/07/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I am wondering what is propping up stock prices, or rather what is the value of buying a stock? Okay, in the most simple case you will buy a stock and hope that you can sell it later for more to someone else, this is basic supply and demand. But my question is, is there anything else that is dictating a stock besides its popularity and how much people buy it in the most fundamental sense? I know there are dividends, but from what I've seen dividends are very low and usually you wouldn't really consider dividends when buying a stock. So is the only motivation for buying a stock is that you can sell it for more later to someone else? In that case the whole system seems a bit artificial, as in there's no 'real' value that the stocks provide. The only driving force behind stocks then is people buying them and hoping they make some money, but of course some people who are hoping to make money will lose and that's what keeps the ball rolling. In this case, does it really matter if a company is doing bad or good when considering the direction of a stock? submitted by /u/_AntiFun_ [link] [comments]

  36. Slight manipulation from Robinhood? (12/02/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
So I’ve spoken to about 15 other people and they all seem to have the same issue. Since the whole circus show with GME, RH saw a mass exodus, me included. I immediately requested a transfer to my other brokerage. I initiated the transfer on a Friday and the transfer went through the next Friday.... but here’s the catch. RH hit me with a margin call, and kept my full position in SNDL. I emailed them and didn’t get a response for 4 days. They gave me the nonsense “we’ll look into it”. Yesterday the margin call issue was resolved. But, I still didn’t have access to my position SNDL. STILL DONT. Why would RH do this.. Luckily I do think the marijuana sector has loss of catalyst and this won’t be the end of the run, but that does suck not being able to take profits off the table... Anyone else have the same issue as me? Different assets getting locked? Margin call? Random issues .... submitted by /u/PositivePumps [link] [comments]

  43. So I don't have much to invest, and I don't understand the tricks of the trade, but is this an ok strategy for someone in my boat? (30/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
So I don't have much to invest (right now, I have put about $1000 in), and to put it bluntly, I'm pretty dumb when it comes to the stock market. I know the basics. Basically stocks 101. But what I can invest, I'm buying little bits at a time (1 to 2 shares in expensive stock, 5 to 10 in less expensive), mostly at the end of the week if I see a dip and only in industries I understand and follow. I like tech, so I've bought a few shares in Intel, AMD, and Sony just to test the waters. After a few days I was up on all 3. Then I saw Vizio was having it's IPO, so I purchased some of that. I was up about 9% after about 4 days. For shits and giggles I bought some AMC and Dogecoin as well. I'm in it mostly for the long game. I just want to buy and sit on stock. Then I read everyone says Palantir is a great long term stock and I read up on them and thought they have a bright future, so I bought some of that. I'm down on them, but going to hold for a long time. My question is, is buying a little bit of stock here and there, mostly in just industries that interest me and in "stable and reliable" companies only in dips, and holding for a long time viable? Or should I just save up my money and buy large amounts in one stock at a time? Thanks. submitted by /u/Knightmare25 [link] [comments]
