Is PLUG dead? Is this company worth sticking around for?

Reddit Stocks

14/09/2021 - 23:49

Hi everyone, I just need some advice/insight as to $PLUG and if they have any upside or potential in the future. I was an early believer in them and did not sell when they mooned. The stock price been consistently going down and rather than give up I doubled down. I am currently down about more than 1K and am looking to reallocate funds, but I dont know if I should take that loss. Any insight appreciated, Thanks submitted by /u/a101734 [link] [comments]

For the past year or so I've been interested in PLUG but put my money elsewhere for the time being. I have not done a bunch of DD but from what I've seen posted around here ----- they've done some shady shit and really puts the company, and their financials, in a bad light. So, if you think PLUG is currently best to avoid ---- what stock should I be investing in for the EV market? 2. Is Plug dead? (03/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Seems like the company has ambitious goals for the future by 2024 which is why I bought. But I bought high at $60 and as most of you know it’s been slowly bleeding off over the course of this past month. Do I really Hodl for that long? submitted by /u/OrlandoWashington69 [link] [comments]

  3. Is PLUG even worth holding onto? (15/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I’ll admit it. I fell for the hype and at one point I was up 20%, but this stock has been in continuous decline for the past 3 months, dropping a jawdropping 60% and after doing a little more research, I’ve found that this company is pretty godawful. Their revenue last quarter was... how do I put it..? Absolutely abysmal. There’s also a class action lawsuit going on against them on behalf of shareholders and the CEO recently dumped his shares. To say that there’s shady shit behind this company is an understatement. The market has been absolutely terrible these last two months but I can’t help but feel the clean energy bubble has burst. PLUG RUN CELL BLINK SPWR are all performing terribly despite high hopes for renewable energy. I fear PLUG is only gonna keep tanking down to $3 and i’m thinking of just cutting my losses at 60% and dumping this piece of trash. submitted by /u/catdollars [link] [comments]

Currently I am holding NEE and PLUG as my clean energy plays. I immediately regretted buying PLUG because I bought a few shares a few days before the financial restatement “scandal”. I like NEE as a long term play, but what is another clean energy company I can invest in after I break even at $41 a share on PLUG and sell? I’ve been looking at EXC and ENPH. submitted by /u/thelandonblock [link] [comments]

I’ve been buying up a lot of $UAL and $LUV thinking that there would be a large surge in the industry. Well, I decided that it was no longer worth it. Yes there a large demand for travel at the moment, but I think I was too early. So, I pulled the plug, sold and branched out to some others I have been playing with. I think 6 months from now, I’ll try it again with UAL. submitted by /u/GhostHawk11B [link] [comments]

  7. How is the revenue of PLUG (Plug Power Inc) negative in the latest report? (18/07/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
In the report from December 2020, plug power reports a revenue of around -100m dollars. But since revenue is the money the company gets from selling their products, shouldn't this value always be positive? I'm guessing that there is some kind of accounting trickery going on but I couldn't find a proper answer for it on Google. Do you guys have an idea? Microsoft hit a $2 trillion market cap. I know the idea of a company being worth $2.5 or $3 trillion is kind of insane, but Microsoft continues to return major increases in revenue/profits annually; plus they control so much in the cloud space. Is there really a reason to believe that Microsoft would be a bad buy at this point? 11. DD: Sea Limited (SE) | The Amazon of Southeast Asia (10/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I posted a DD about SE in August. In the DD, I did math to justify why I believed it should be worth $125 billion. Right now, its market cap is worth $140 billion, which means my DD was completely correct. I’m here to update the post. In for shares now, because my calls expired worthless, yet SE absolutely rocketed a month later. Shares are an absolutely brain dead play, at this company is well worth it’s price tag I was going to rewrite all the reasons I was bullish on it, but relooking at the DD, it has everything I think it would need. I would strongly reading the previous DD and buying shares. To give updated numbers, their E-commerce platform has increased 173% YoY, their digital payments increased 846% YoY, and their digital entertainment is expected to increase 110% YoY. I have no doubts that this will be a ½ a trillion dollar company by 2023 Just buy shares and forget it. -- PS – I wrote the SE DD on a different account, but can confirm if necessary that it is indeed me. submitted by /u/StarksTwins [link] [comments]

  12. Best ETFs to hedge against a tech heavy portfolio? (29/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
While the majority of my portfolio ($54k if it means anything) is in VOO, VOT, VB, and QQQ, I am also heavy in tech and more volatile stocks/ETFs with positions in MSFT, PLUG, ARKK, ARKG, SOXX, BABA. 55% is in the safer plays while 45% is in the more volatile or less safe (though I’d say only 20% is truly volatile through ARKK, ARKG, PLUG). As the title says I am looking for ETFs to hedge against a riskier portfolio. While I suppose I could just keep adding to VOO, VOT, VB I feel like I should add in something like SCHD or another value based ETF with blue chips like PEP, BRK.B, COST, or other stocks. I am just having trouble finding a good one and am unsure if I’m better off just sticking to the plays I have. Given a lot of tech heavy portfolios on this sub I think it could be some good discussion going on how others hedge a teach heavy portfolio? 13. Assessing a Company's Worth (25/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hello, can anyone tell me what the formula is for market cap and how to assess if a stock is overvalued or not based on its current price? I always see price prediction and then some other guy will comment and be like that would put the company at a 5B market cap or whatever. Also what does the market cap correlate to on an earnings sheet (if that makes sense)? I would ask for other ways to assess, but I do not really understand PE/PB/EBITDA at all. Also, I often see a company had positive earnings, but then it says like a loss in revenue or something? Thanks for any help and sorry because I know this is poorly put together and noobish. I bought PLUG at 50 and NIO at 60 and I would like not to do that sort of thing again. Thanks again! submitted by /u/Potential-Guide-9562 [link] [comments]

  14. Twitter is not growing (11/08/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Twitter does not deserve 144 PE ratio. Short that piece of garbage company down to $5/share. The last time Twitter looked worth investing in was 2016 when it crashed down to 13 and they had Anthony Noto working to turn the company into an internet TV station that you could comment on and talk about the shows as you watch., Noto left and was never replaced. The board voted to keep a part time wanna be CEO who is intentionally killing the company by censoring every word anyone says and booting most of the users off the platform. This is a dead company. $5 per share is a high estimate. submitted by /u/Porkysays [link] [comments]

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/plug-power-restate-previously-issued-210000037.html PLUG power down hard after hours due to news that there are some small accounting errors. I believe this is a great buy in and been meaning to release some DD on it that it is a very underrated stock. Why? They're a legit company and the better of the fuel cell stocks with contracts in Europe and Korea. - Korea recently invested in them at 30$ a share. Should be a floor. - Energy pull back recent weeks. This is easily a 100$ stock by next year - Legit company, not like Nikola. Their glassdoor even has a hiring SURGE: https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Plug-Power-Reviews-E9782.htm - CEO statement on this: Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power, said, “Since our founding nearly 25 years ago, Plug Power has prided itself on operating with transparency and integrity, and we are working to resolve this matter quickly. Importantly, there is no expected impact to our cash position, business operations or economics of commercial arrangements. We continue to execute on our mission to provide customers with state-of-the-art fuel cell and green hydrogen solutions. We remain confident in our ability to leverage our strong business momentum and market leading technologies, independently and alongside our joint venture partners, to capture the significant business opportunities in this rapidly growing industry.” submitted by /u/itskayyuhvin [link] [comments]

  31. Question regarding two tickers listed under the same company ($KOF, $COCSF) (13/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hi guys, I apologize ahead of time because one of the two tickers I’m trying to understand is a penny stock. I’ve tried asking on /r/PennyStocks but did not get an answer that helped me. I am new to trading and I stumbled on $COCSF which seems to relate to $KOF. After doing some naive research, I found that both of their profiles are identical (same company, same contact information) with the exception of the price and the fact that KOF is listed on NYSE while COCSF is listed on the OTC market. Could someone explain to me, and show me how they did their DD on this to come to the conclusion regarding: the difference between these two tickers, besides the exchange they’re listed on and one being penny and the other not? is COCSF dead? Can a ticker be dead, and if so, how can you tell? hypothetically, if KOF is doing well/bad, can that impact COCSF? And vice versa I would like to learn from you any methods of researching and understanding of tickers which seem to be related, such as these, because I think this will help me do better DD in the future. The stock market sentiment has changed quietly when some high flying names, TSLA, PLUG, ZM, all enter correction territory. The meme stonk, AMC, GME, KOSS clearly lost their momentum. ALL EASY MONEY HAS BEEN MADE for now. In my opinion, Kodak is about to turn around and worth more DD. Since Kodak announced up to $310 MM new capitals raised for growth opportunities the stock price has dropped 15%. It is clear that the company raised the large sum for a reason, not for their balance sheet but for something "growth opportunities". The company has $194 MM cash in hand and net debt free https://www.kodak.com/en/company/press-release/new-capital-sources-debt-structure Three institutional investors bought the common stocks or convertible preferred shares at $10 per common share, a nearly 20% premium to today's price. GME has done it, a spike from $40 to $400 followed by another 600% spick again. Same for AMC. Kodak may well do it again. 49. Is PLUG POWER a buy now? (28/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
PLUG had an incredible run up in the last few months up to 73$. Now it’s down 35% to 48$. Since hydrogen is a new technology, I certainly see the future in here. They want to build 10 green hydrogen plants in 2028, 3 of which will be completed by 2022. They deliver hydrogen cells to companies like Amazon for their forklift trucks, but that’s still on a very low scale. Isn’t 48$ still very overpriced for what they do right now? Or am I missing something? I feel that the whole renewable market had a huge drop since it was so overhyped when Biden won the election. submitted by /u/SnooObjections2665 [link] [comments]
