WIX is at 64% short interest on a 56m float!!!

Reddit Stocks

14/09/2021 - 21:24

https://fintel.io/ss/us/wix How in the world are we trading at $215 today when in March we were almost 2x that ($362), oh wait...shorts. Yep, to that point we're at 64% short interest because everyone wants to chase memes. Crazy to think that these levels exist with a balance sheet WIX has. I have a handful of $300 10/15 calls btw submitted by /u/r3z1n [link] [comments]

  1. Confusion regarding short interest calculation. (02/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I've seen two different desrciption. One variation where short interest is defined as a percentage of the float. Another where short interest is defined as a percentage of average trading volume. I keep seeing people referencing the latter and getting scared that the short interest is so high. Say 4m shares of 8m. When compared to the float which could be 1b making it a tiny percentage. Which is the correct method of calculating the short interest? And what is actually considered a high percentage? Thanks submitted by /u/WardenPleco [link] [comments]

  2. CARV possibly one of the biggest squeeze candidates on the market (06/07/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Reason for the high short interest. However, it’s consolidating right now unlike previous years. The cost to borrow is ridiculously high now at 9+ percent and with all eyes on stocks with short interest if this trends on stocktwits, discord servers, reddit, or YouTube communities with only a 500,000 float and a cap of $5,000,000 to buy the whole float with a 60 percent plus short interest with a rate of 9% borrow rate and a consolidation of price around $10 is asking for one of the biggest short squeezes. submitted by /u/Either_Loan_6516 [link] [comments]

  3. GameStop (GME) Recent Stock Float History (12/09/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I tried posting this on another subreddit but it didn't work. I thought it might be of interest to people here. I went through my archives and put together the attached chart of GME stock float and short interest over the last several months. As everyone has noticed, the float number recently reported by Yahoo Finance looks to be off. I can't explain why, but based on my experience with such data, float does not fluctuate that greatly on a day to day basis. It will be interesting to see what the data bears out over the next several days. I hope this is of interest to followers of GameStop stock (I currently hold no positions in GME). https://preview.redd.it/ombohs8wo4n71.png?width=952&format=png&auto=webp&s=5f3ab305bf90e5d3f09471a3c4f0b75a253874dc submitted by /u/FloatChecker [link] [comments]

  5. Tkat short squeeze, repeat of btx (03/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Tkat only has 11 mil outstanding shares with only 6 mil float. The last short interest report says there is only 700k short interest, (11 percent float), there was 8+ mil in cumulative short volume in the last 10 trading days with 4 mil short traded Friday alone. We can't see what the actual short interest is unfortunately, but it's much higher than 700k if 4m shares were shorted Friday. This is setting up to be the next btx. Tiny 360 mil. Cap, tiny 11m outstanding shares, trading volume out the ass. This stock would squeeze super easy and cost funds 6 bil. Btx was also a small sub billion dollar market cap stock, 6 dollars x 40m. Now it's 4 bil, that's 4 bil the funds lost while borrowing like 100 mil ish. Tkat has 157 percent borrow fee with 90k short shares available. Also this stock tends to double and half all of the time, right now it's halfed. Not financial advice submitted by /u/UrgeToSurge [link] [comments]

  6. TMC - The nuclear thesis (16/09/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
TMC could be a nuclear bomb. There are a total of 224 million shares outstanding but only 2.7 million of them are publicly traded right now. Source: https://ibb.co/376Sv7J That’s straight from the SEC website and dated 9/15. That means that: 1) The float is only 1.2% of the total shares. WHAT THE FUCK? 2) At the current price, the ENTIRE FLOAT can be bought for just 32 million dollars. WHAT THE FUCK BUT it gets even more interesting… Sept 17 options chain There are about 25,000 contracts in the money. Each contract = 100 shares. That means 2,500,000 shares are getting called away tomorrow if the stock is 12.5 or more. What was the float again? 2,700,000 shares. Yeah thats the entire float. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? I’ve never seen anything like this before. And it gets even better. Bloomberg terminal short interest To top it all off, 160% of the float is sold short. Have an erection yet? Why hasn’t TMC been able to break past 15? Because if it does it could potentially go nuclear. The entire float in the money with 160% of the float short. This is absolutely nuts. You couldn’t make up a better setup. What are your thoughts? Position: 135 calls 15 strike and 1000 shares I’m not a financial advisor this isn’t financial advice. 7. Short Volume ? Short Interest! (29/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Tldr; Short Volume is NOT the same as Short Interest. Short volume does NOT cause a short squeeze. I’ve seen lots of posts commenting “the stock is xx% shorted!” So posting to clarify something: Short volume is NOT the same as short interest! Very big difference, do not confuse the two and spread misinformation. Short volume is number of shares sold short and traded that DAY. Short interest is the total % of the float out on loan being shorted. Short volume is almost always higher than short interest. Also as volume increases so does short volume. They are not tied to each other. Short volume can in theory be one shorted share traded back and forth 1 million times to show a short volume of 1 million. In reality it is almost always the same group of shorted shares, or people trading on preexisting shorted positions. Increasing short volume ? short interest. Correlation does NOT imply causation. Short volume does NOT trigger a gamma squeeze nor a short squeeze. I have seen many posts saying various stocks are “ XX% shorted” when in reality they are referring to the short volume. Most of these stocks are too diluted to experience a gamma squeeze or a short squeeze. Also people saying “short interest increased XX% overnight” Short interest reporting does not happen overnight, it’s monthly for FINRA and always 2 weeks delayed, as the report month end and release the reports 2 weeks later. You are looking at short volume. submitted by /u/sweljb [link] [comments]

  10. Short % of float question (09/09/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
From my understanding, float is the amount of public stock there is left to buy on the open market. So if if there is a company that is showing 900%+ on the short % of float, wouldn't this mean that the shares are way way over sold shorted etc? 11. KOSS...what am I missing? (17/03/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I've done very well with GameStop, still holding a few hundred shares (some of it probably forever), but wondering why there isn't any attention on KOSS...all GME and AMC? Looking over S3 Partners data, AMCs short interest is 8.2% (squeezable), GMEs is 12.93% (squeezable), but KOSS is at 38.41%?!? The free float available is 872,000 shares to trade, but the volume today was 3,160,000, but the price only went up 2.77%? With that much volume on that low of a float, and over a third of the shares tied up in short positions, how is this not skyrocketing with any small amount of movement, and why is there barely any interest at all on this sub or WSB? Please someone that has eaten less crayons than me, tell me why this isn't a prime setup for an epic short squeeze? I don't think the same fundamental case exists for KOSS like it does with AMC or GME so I don't want to go more than 5% of my capital on a position, especially since for whatever reason there's no attention here for it. 16. (LCI) Lannet Co and Something Isn’t Adding Up Infinite Short Interest? (10/08/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Kind of stumbled across this today somehow but what I am seeing isn’t adding up. Looking at some sites and trying to find up to date data LCI stock ownership by insiders and institutions is 109 percent. Theoretically 0 retail float but that is not true due to the 6.74 million shares shorted. 87.69 percent institution ownership 1.37 percent corporation ownership 20.68 insider ownership =109.74% Owned 41.45 Million Shares Outstanding Outstanding Shares*1.0974(Ownership)=45,487,230 6,740,000Million Shares Shorted 4,037,230 Shares are made up and held by institutions, insiders, and corporations. Which if you minus that from short interest is about 2.7 million shares are left of the float and it’s all shorted shares…so in other words the short interest is infinite unless insiders or institutions sell right? Someone clear this up for me and tell me this is not possible or I did something wrong because if this is true this is absolutely ridiculous especially if this gains traction one day. submitted by /u/Either_Loan_6516 [link] [comments]

  23. How is the float 1.16m and the shares short are 925,000 with 2.3 days to cover? Trinseo (TSE) (18/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Trinseo (TSE) looks to be in the beginning of a breakout. They make one word, “plastics,” and rubber and other chemicals and materials. The company blew earnings estimates by 39.25% but are coming off a technical breakdown to the 50 day that consolidated into earnings. If you look at the EPS revisions from TSE in their earnings call slide presentation from May 6th the estimated Adjusted EPS for 2021 are 9.12-10.14 vs. analysts are outdated and as low as $4, which they already made this year ????, and one gave a $10.04. Comparable companies trade around 10x, and TSE closed Friday at $67.75 and today at $69.39. There’s more...TSE is 94.77% institutionally owned and 2.2% is insiders leaving a public float of basically 3% with total shares outstanding of 38.74m as of 5/3/21. That leaves about 1.16m shares float. Now here’s what I don’t understand but find very interesting...how can there be 928,500 shares short with 2.3 days to cover and only 1.16m float? Can someone explain this?Aside from this interesting point I like the stock; not stock advice. https://shortsqueeze.com//shortinterest/stock/term2.php?s=TSE TSE trades an average 10 day volume of 375.79k. This is not stock advice, but what it appears to me is that once the analysts get off their bums and do the math, the revisions will be HUGE and this stock might be worth $90/share range relative to 10x earnings. This is not stock advice. I would be interested if anyone can explain the short interest to float here. Either way TSE seems like a lagger in the space with strong operating leverage and strong eps. 24. Short squeeze target! Ontrak ticker OTRK only 7 million float (08/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
WSB banned me for posting this because the market cap is too small!! GME was under $600 million when DFV spent a year posting about it LOL. Their loss is your gain Number 9 short interest with 30.3% of the float short Current stock price of $32. The 11 month low is $28. Very low risk entry right now. More importantly the stock hit $99 in February before being shorted to these levels. Options are starting to move as apes catch on, but still very cheap for now. The float is tiny, 18.3 million shares outstanding and a small market cap of only 600 million! It will not take many retard apes to move this bigly. Thinly traded, you can literally hit the ask with $300 and watch the stock move up. This means the shorts are fucked, not enough volume to cover!! Also fundamentally the stock is cash flow positive with $100mil yearly revenues a 133% growth since last year and $6.4mil cash flow last quarter. Does anyone know what the float is for AABB? I checked the otcmarket website and I see different number for a couple things. The authorized shares minus the outstanding shares I thought would give me the float... But then I saw a shares from DTC or something and I searched google what that meant and it said that was the public float... it wasn't the same as the difference between the authorized and outstanding shares though. What I'm basically looking for is the float and the short interest... and how many days to cover. I was in CARV for like 2 weeks and the constant fall of the stock price had me worried that I ended up selling the morning I saw it was up. Made a nice $1.80 profit per share... but then the stock price kept going up a good 200+%. So I knew what I had and I knew it should have squeezed but I got scared. So now I'm hoping to find another like carv. I probably wont because that was such an obvious one.. but any help on AABB? I'm not sure if I hit the required 560 character limit... Shares Out. = 3.3M on Webull AND Finviz Free Float = 3.2M on Webull, but 0.52M on Finviz, and 6M on Trading View % Short of Float = 21% on Webull but 52% on Finviz How are they so far off with very little fluctuation in price today?? For comparison, Today, $AAPL shows exact same data for everything across all platforms. Whats going on?? Example 1: Today, $RSLS shows: Market cap = 19M on Webull & TDA, but 40M on Finviz & Trading View. It makes it all very confusing to know which to go off of, any help appreciated! submitted by /u/QueenCityKings [link] [comments]

  34. Explaining the GME short interest (10/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I must preface by saying I'm not an expert, but it looks like there is just a discrepancy by Morningstar.   https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/gme?mod=quote_search   MarketWatch has the shares shorted at 21 million which is consistent with other reports including this image of the Bloomberg terminal: https://imgur.com/ahGvKmx   The discrepancy is that Morningstar is using the wrong float in its calculations. Almost every site I have been on says the GME float is around 50 million shares, but it appears Morningstar is using the same float that they used in 1/15 of 27.29 million shares. https://www.morningstar.com/stocks/xnys/gme/quote   Guess what 21/27 is... you guessed it 78%. And 21/50...42%. Again, I am not an expert, but this makes sense to me. This is not financial advice. submitted by /u/SolveThisProblem [link] [comments]

  36. High Short Interest stocks going to the moon ? ???????? (17/04/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
So I’m reading this and I see all the high leveled shorted stocks. Lots of tickers in the 40% range with little float to cover. All the talk is about $GME and the short interest not possibly being 24% So here’s my question, with the new SEC???? and so much excellent DD being done in r/superstonk - are any rules ever going to be put in place to stop all this naked shorting in the near term? If so, aren’t all of these highly shorted stocks going to ???? ???? shortly thereafter? My fear is the big boys will quietly fix this huge issue and sweep all of this under the rug and we the retail investors will be left holding the bag. Full disclosure, I’m hodling GME and ASO, because I like the stock and I’m not a financial anything. submitted by /u/DrPoopyPants [link] [comments]

  37. The DD is there are people not looking for it? (CLOV) hear me out. (24/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I just got off work and am somewhat tired so I’ll keep this short. According to last posted Ortex data (I’m looking at it as I type). The exchange reported short interest is up to 41.27m which is up 2.2% from previous. 49.26% of the current free float is on loan up .5% from 7 days ago. Current cost to borrow = 7.05 with 100% utilization…..100%. Current shares on loan is 55.36m. With today’s listed returned shares at 11.35m. And last but not least the current estimate of SI of Free float being 38.21%. Now Green Oaks shares being inaccurately calculated ( see u/Dutch_Trades for details the guy has excellent DD) aside and I won’t even get into the balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and stellar looking business plan. I would have assumed aside from r\CLOV that I would see more discussion about the incredible opportunity for a short squeeze in this stock….inevitable short squeeze. Have I missed something on this stonk? After all I have very smooth brain ????. If I inaccurately stated anything or anyone has any insight into why this is not being talked about everywhere please tell me. So long story short I yolo’d the majority of my account into CLOV(62% of my entire portfolio and probably soon to be 100%) because I truly believe the numbers to be accurate(ish/enough) for this thing to squeeze to the fucking ????. Poke holes in my shit please. All feedback and criticism is welcome. Until then I’ll be here waiting on my Lambo ???? submitted by /u/Havok4650 [link] [comments]

  38. Tired of missing opportunities like GME, AMC, or CLOV? Boy do I got a stock for you! $CARV (28/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Yes another shorted stock but this one is a little different. $CARV is shorted 68% and the float is only 400,000 shares. So 272,000 of these are shorted leaving only 128,000. I've never even hear of a float that low. And even better, the market cap is only $33m. So it would take a microscopic amount of capital to squeeze this to the stratosphere compared to much bigger stocks like Workhorse. $WKHS $1.92B market cap so its almost 60x the size of $CARV. Like I said, hardly any cash needed to squeeze, especially with such a low float. On another note, this is a financial institution that helps minorities in low income neighborhoods. If the SJWs get a hold of this, it will skyrocket! It just closed a deal with BlackRock and Bank of America last week and with the Biden Admin in office, I think "ComeOnMan?????????" will pass more bills to compensate institutions in this demographic. Think about how people will react to hedge funds shorting a stock that focuses on helping minorities! "YoU aRe So RaCiSt!!! tHiS iS a BlAcK oWnEd BuSiNeSs!!! 45. SPRT... here are a few numbers that might excite you: (22/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Currently trading at <$4/share. There is a total of 24.1 million shares outstanding. The float is 15.1m shares. There are about 30 institutions that hold, combined, 49.54% of the total shares. There are 22 mutual funds that hold 5.2% of the total shares. Insiders hold about 37.35% of all shares. Short interest is 25.71% of float (as of May 28th). I did the math and it leaves us with 1,906,310 shares that are not owned by insiders, mutual funds, or institutions. This thing has the potential to take off in a significant way. submitted by /u/alpha_mu [link] [comments]

  46. Basically free short term money. (2-3 days 20-30% pretty much guaranteed) $BGFV (02/09/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hey there, this might seem shilly, but I‘m on my phone and longer reddit posts make my keyboard lag A LOT. So, to keep it short: -Undervalued (P/E of 6 compared to 8-11 on other sporting goods stores (ASO, DKS) -Record quarter earnings and revenue (3xx M Revenue, 80M gross profit) -35% short interest, currently they‘re covering. 10‘000 were left to short yesterday, 300‘000 today. 7‘300‘000 short positions are still open on about 21 Million float. Explanation: sharp rise in price after record earnings, selloff with shorts just after. Now shorts are taking profit. Do with this information what you want, my iPhone 6s‘s keyvoard now lacks 1 second behind and I basically cant‘tweite anymore. submitted by /u/TomTom_ZH [link] [comments]

  47. Thirsty for gainz? grab some wATER -- SI, cost to borrow, volume and stock price have all increased since this post yesterday. Just got a rare reccomendatoin by Ortex as a buy on all three short squeeze indicators (short 4d and long 14d squeeze potential) (09/09/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Ortex Data: https://preview.redd.it/1fbxnb77oim71.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f93d08b9c64bdf57dde39d3df9066a5e9915daab Credit to u/-Z1- posted yesterday morning ATER ???? The Squeeze is Happening Now ???? The Hard Data: Good evening ladies and gents, hope you're doing well!To put it simply, everything is in place for an epic short squeeze in ATER:- Skyrocketing volume, with tons of new buyers joining in the squeeze each day.- Trapped shorts with high borrow fees, no more shares to borrow, and a tiny 23m float.- Gamma squeeze set up to happen with tons of call options ITM with 9/17 expiration. Incredible Short Squeeze Data: 66.5% of the float is shorted! 99.4% utilization of loanable shares. No more shares to borrow! Tiny float of 23m is easy to squeeze high and fast. 101.67% avg. cost to borrow - new shorts won't want to hold on long, especially as we drive the price up. The majority of the shorts are trapped! Look at when short interest began skyrocketing - it started when the stock price was $3 to $4. https://preview.redd.it/m8kq5tw8oim71.png?width=1635&format=png&auto=webp&s=e2451e4733526af3cf1d83d07c0f7d643df0858b Volume is Skyrocketing 89.5 million volume today, compared with just 4.4 million average volume. That's 2.7 million shares when exercised, which is 12% of the float! When ATER hits $15, that goes up to 51,033 calls ITM (5.1 million shares), which is 23% OF THE FLOAT! A large gamma squeeze will shoot the price up if we keep the price up going into next week! Virtually no puts are ITM. 49. Is NURO the next AMC/GME? (26/08/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Is NURO The Next AMC/GME? So you want to know is NeuroMetrix ($NURO) the next AMC/GME? In short. Fuck no. But… There’s a few things we need to understand. 1.)$NURO is up 250%+ on the 3 month, and is currently priced at $10.45-close to 70% below its 52 wk high of 38.75 IMO we are nearing a bottom..based on some chart pattern analysis and the fact that I might be slightly retarded, we can conclude support lies between mid to high $9s 2.)Not only is short interest high but shares short are becoming hard to borrow. Seriously, you have you be a special kind of retarded to short a security with only 3m shares available. It’s like smoking crack-it’s fun until you realize the price of a crack rock is 10x because you and other crackheads keep getting fronts from Jerome. 3.)The overall market is quiet. Some of the best opportunities to buy are when nobody is watching. At least one person here FOMO’d at $38.74. Don’t be ashamed, FOMO is a serious problem in society and affects people from all walks of life. On a serious note, this could very well be the dip before the rip. If you can afford the risk, with a good entry/exit plan, a position at these levels could payoff short term…Or not! 4.)For most investors this is a squeeze play/not a fundamental or technical one. High short interest+Low float+catalyst=???? ???? Be honest you could care less that $NURO Is 16% institutionally owned, with 10.6% insider ownership and blah blah blah…what’s the short interest on this bitch?!?! 41%???? Suddenly I have rocket emoji Tourettes ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? The evidence points to a squeeze of epic proportions..IMO Will it be as epic as AMC\GME? Only time will tell.. This is not financial advice. I am slightly retarded submitted by /u/Quron2Icy [link] [comments]
