Traeger Wood Pellet Grills ($COOK) planning to go public through IPO. Delta Variant and summertime are a perfect combination for Traeger Wood Pellet Grills, as they are the leader in wood pellet grills. Jeremy Andrus the CEO, used to also be the CEO of Skullcandy headphones in 2005 (dont tell me you don't remember seeing those on every single person) Jeremy @ Skullcandy, and has transformed Traeger since becoming the CEO in 2014. I believe Traeger is coming on at the right time. I also believe after it becomes public it will take a hit as do all stocks after their IPO. But, look for an entry after it has taken a hit and hold onto through summer and I'll leave the rest to you. -twoiaido submitted by /u/twoiaido [link] [comments]

Traeger is also very popular in the area I live in so may look into them a bit more tomorrow morning. They seem to be the only decent ipo tomorrow duolingo seems overpriced to me but what the hell do I know. Neither are tech stocks as I'm trying to ranch out of that current industry. 19. Weber IPO: What to look for when the outdoor grill maker goes public (14/07/2021 - AlphaStreet)
The thriving capital market and ample funding continue to drive emerging companies to the IPO market, which looks poised to end the year on a record high. Weber-Stephen Products LLC is preparing to come out of the private realm and become a public entity under the name Weber, Inc. The company registered solid growth in recent months, thanks to the popularity of home grilling/smoking during the virus-induced shutdown. $6-bln Valuation The company, which is on a mission to revolutionalize outdoor cooking through its technology-enabled products, is looking to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WEBR. It is expected to start trading by next week. Post-IPO, Weber could reach a value of up to $6 billion. The group of book-runners is led by JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Bank of America, which last year managed a funding round in which the company raised around $1.6 billion. Meanwhile, the management is yet to disclose the size of the IPO and the offer price. Of late, investor demand for IPO stocks has not been very encouraging, but Weber’s strong fundamentals and brand power, together with the scale of the business and ability to create shareholder value, make it an investment option worth considering. The extensive omnichannel network, comprising DTC, e-commerce, and wholesale, helps maintain the leadership position in key markets. 70-year Legacy Weber was founded in 1952 by George Stephen who is credited for making the first charcoal grill called Weber Kettle. Headquartered in Palatine, Illinois, it is led by chief executive officer Chris Scherzinger who has been holding the post for the past three years. Besides charcoal grills, the company also sells electric/gas smokers and wood pellet products. The focus of the management’s growth strategy is innovation and the continued expansion of the product portfolio. While the ongoing market reopening bodes well for the corporate world, Weber’s future prospects would depend on economic recovery and people’s spending power, since most of its products come under the consumer discretionary category. Sales could come under pressure from seasonal factors and unfavorable weather conditions. Also, the pandemic situation continues to be critical in some of the overseas markets where the company has operations. $1.5-bln Revenue Unlink most IPO aspirants these days, Weber is a profitable company that continues to expand global market share – as much as 24% as per the latest estimates. In fiscal 2020, net income jumped to $88.9 million from $50.1 million a year earlier. The growth was supported by an 18% growth in revenues to $1.53 billion. The products are being sold in 78 countries, with a global installed base of 50 million. Should you invest in Sight Sciences’ initial public offering? Earlier this month, Weber’s rival TGPX Holdings had filed for IPO, seeking to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol COOK.The post Weber IPO: What to look for when the outdoor grill maker goes public first appeared on AlphaStreet.

  20. A question about the mechanics of a short squeeze (04/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
    Hi all I am trying to understand how does a short squeeze work, in particular when a person shorts a stock but can't cover it when the stock prices goes up against his prediction. I still have a gap in my understanding and I thought you maybe able to help fill it. I try to explain here: Let's suppose we have: 1. `Person 1` 2. `Person 2` 3. `Person 3` 5. `Marker Maker` And 10 shares of a given stock. Initially we have: | Who? | Shares | |----------|--------| | `Person 1` | 0 | | `Person 2` | 0 | | `Person 3` | 0 | | `Market Maker` | 10 | Then let's say `Person 1`, and `Person 2` buy 1 share each: | Who? | Shares | |----------|--------| | `Person 1` | 1 | | `Person 2` | 1 | | `Person 3` | 0 | | `Market Maker` | 8 | Then `Person 3` borrows 8 shares from the MM with the intention of shorting it: | Who? | Shares | |----------|--------| | `Person 1` | 1 | | `Person 2` | 1 | | `Person 3` | 8 | | `Market Maker | 0 | `Person 3` then sells those shares to `Person 1` and `Person 2` at the market price (4 shares to each): | Who? | Shares | |----------|--------| | `Person 1` | 5 | | `Person 2` | 5 | | `Person 3` | 0 | | `Market Maker` | 0 | Let's pretend that after sometime `Person 3` realizes that the share price will not go down and he gives up and decides to buy back the shares and return it to the Market Maker. Irrespective of initial prices, borrow fees, etc. Let's say `Person 1` and `Person 2` only sell their shares for a certain price: | Who? | Price | |----------|--------| | Person 1 | $420 | | Person 2 | $69 | Let's say `Person 3` only has $5 in his bank account. Does that mean, that the Market Maker liquidates `Person 3`, takes his $5, and then is obligated to buy the shares at the prices set by `Person 1`, `Person 2`, with two $420 shares of `Person 1` remaining in his possession? submitted by /u/OxCoff33Bab3 [link] [comments]

  23. Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG): Four areas that are a win for the fast food chain (21/07/2021 - AlphaStreet)
Shares of Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) soared over 12% on Wednesday, a day after the company reported strong results for the second quarter of 2021 and provided an upbeat guidance. The stock has gained 27% since the start of the year and 49% over the past 12 months. Here are four areas where the company scored high in Q2: Strong results For Q2 2021, Chipotle delivered revenue and earnings that exceeded market expectations. Revenue rose 38.7% year-over-year to $1.9 billion, fueled by a 31.2% increase in comparable restaurant sales. Factors like strong digital sales, a recovery in in-restaurant sales and menu innovation helped drive revenue growth. Last year’s second quarter sales were negatively impacted by the pandemic. The company also delivered strong profits for the quarter. Reported EPS rose to $6.60 from $0.29 and adjusted EPS rose to $7.46 from $0.40 in the prior-year period. Chipotle Mexican Grill Q2 2021 Earnings Infographic Strength in digital Chipotle’s digital sales gained momentum during the pandemic and its investments in technology helped boost its capabilities to meet this rise in digital orders. In Q2, digital sales grew nearly 11% YoY to $916 million and accounted for around 49% of total sales. The company continues to expand its digital drive-thru footprint with the majority of its new restaurant openings comprising Chipotlanes. Digital pickup orders, which are high margin transactions, are gaining traction and this is expected to continue with the addition of more of these drive-thru lanes. Chipotle has expanded its digital capabilities to Europe and Canada thereby boosting its international digital investment. Although digital sales might slow down over the coming months as restrictions ease and people go back to eating out more often, the channel will still see significant momentum due to the convenience factor and change in consumer habits.   New restaurants Chipotle opened 56 new restaurants during Q2, of which 45 included a Chipotlane. The new restaurant formats have improved the convenience factor for customers and are driving better sales, margins and returns. The new Chipotlanes are seeing around 20% higher sales compared to the non-Chipotlanes. As of the end of June, the company had a total of 244 Chipotlanes. For the full year of 2021, Chipotle expects to be at or slightly above its guidance of 200 new restaurant openings. The company’s trailing 12-month average unit volume is $2.41 million. Over the long term, Chipotle aims to have 6,000 restaurants in North America with AUVs well beyond $3 million. Outlook For the third quarter of 2021, Chipotle expects comparable restaurant sales to grow in the low to mid double-digits range helped by menu price increases and recovery in in-restaurant sales.
