  6. IVR THE OPTIONS ARE DUE THIS WEEK ITS TIME FOR THE APES (13/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Investors in Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc. IVR need to pay close attention to the stock based on moves in the options market lately. That is because the Jul 2, 2021 $6.50 Call had some of the highest implied volatility of all equity options today. What is Implied Volatility? Implied volatility shows how much movement the market is expecting in the future. Options with high levels of implied volatility suggest that investors in the underlying stocks are expecting a big move in one direction or the other. It could also mean there is an event coming up soon that may cause a big rally or a huge sell-off. However, implied volatility is only one piece of the puzzle when putting together an options trading strategy. What do the Analysts Think? Clearly, options traders are pricing in a big move for Invesco Mortgage Capital shares, but what is the fundamental picture for the company? Currently, Invesco Mortgage Capital is a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) in the REIT and Equity Trust industry that ranks in the Bottom 48% of our Zacks Industry Rank. Over the last 30 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current quarter earnings has increased from 8 cents per share to 9 cents. Given the way analysts feel about Invesco Mortgage Capital shares right now, this huge implied volatility could mean there’s a trade developing. Oftentimes, options traders look for options with high levels of implied volatility to sell premium. This is a strategy many seasoned traders use because it captures decay. At expiration, the hope for these traders is that the underlying stock does not move as much as originally submitted by /u/AccomplishedRush4641 [link] [comments]

If you're here, you're likely looking to find random words. Random Word Generator is the perfect tool to help you do this. While this tool isn't a word creator, it is a word generator that will generate random words for a variety of activities or uses. Even better, it allows you to adjust the parameters of the random words to best fit your needs. The first option the tool allows you to adjust is the number of random words to be generated. You can choose as many or as few as you'd like. You also have the option of choosing words that only begin with a certain letter, only end with a certain letter or only begin and end with certain letters. If you leave these blank, the randomize words that appear will be from the complete list. You also have the option of choosing the number of syllables of the words or the word length of the randomized words. There are also options to further refine by choosing "less than" or "greater than" options for both syllables and word length. Again, if you leave the space blank, the complete list of randomized words will be used. Finally, you can choose between standard text or cursive words. The cursive words will all be in cursive using cursive letters. Once you have input all of your specifications, all you have to do is to press the Generate Random Words button, and a list of random words will appear. Below are some of the common ways people use this tool. Games This tool can be useful for games like Pictionary or MadLibs. Since the words are random, this helps to keep a game like Pictionary fair for all those playing. For a game like MadLibs, it can help kids improve their vocabulary by generating words they may not have ever considered to fill in the blank spaces. The tool has the potential to help with any word game that doesn't require a specific word. Creative Writing For those who write, this tool can be an excellent device to aid in the creative writing process. By using the tool to create 5 random words, a writer could then attempt to use all of them in a single paragraph. Longer random word lists could be incorporated into a short story. Since the writer doesn't know which words will appear, creativity must be used to successfully incorporate all the words. To make the challenge even more difficult, the writer could try to use the words in the exact order they were generated. In this way, writers can challenge their creativity to push their writing skills. Spelling and Vocabulary This tool can be an excellent way to improve vocabulary or practice for spelling bees. If an unfamiliar word appears, looking up the meaning will help students increase the number of words they know. Working with a partner, students can test each other on the spelling for the randomized words generated. Name Inspiration If you need to create a name for a product, an event, a band or for anything else, this tool can be quite helpful. As you consider names, generate a number of random words and see how they impact what you have already come up with. Inputting unique words you may not have considered can spark additional creativity to eventually help you produce the perfect name for your project. If you're looking for good character names or baby names, you might be interested in our random name generator. The above list is not comprehensive. There are literally hundreds of ways the Random Word Generator can be used. Please feel free to share the way you use this tool, and we always welcome suggestions on how we can improve it to serve you better. We are also interested in new word generators you'd be interested in us creating. Many of the tools on this website came from ideas from people like you who contacted us. Please take the time to explore the other random generators we have available which can be found in the right sidebar of the page. Frequently Asked Questions What is the most common word? I've got about 18 different stocks across two different portfolios. I like having the wide variety, but I realized that I buy mostly speculation, even if it's across a wide range of sectors. I usually look for something that's being sold off without any reason, with positive ROI/ROE/ROA and then I'll look at the book/ share value, then I'll look into what the company is, who has been buying them up, what are they telling me they're going to do in the 10k, and what's going on in the real world. Was just curious how some of y'all play the game, why you do so, and maybe what you look for when you enter or exit a position. 28. Wide-Moat ETF Rebalance (29/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
The VanEck Vectors Morningstar Wide Moat ETF ("MOAT") invests in U.S. companies that possess wide economic moats as per Morningstar's methodology. [MOAT] owns 40 to 50 stocks with wide moats and that are trading at a discount to fair value, usually in the 15% to 25% discount range. When moat ratings change or the discount to fair value becomes comparatively noncompetitive with others, the position is replaced. Not only do the components change based on moat rating and discount to fair value, but the portfolio is re-balanced to an equal weighting as well. This creates a relatively high annual portfolio turnover of around 25%. The ETF, managed by VanEck, is based on the Morningstar® Wide Moat Focus Index, which includes only U.S. stocks and, as the name suggests, only companies that possess wide economic moats. https://postimg.cc/jnQyjcDz Illustration of equities moat Removed https://postimg.cc/XX38RBGw Among the names removed from the ETF are financials Bank of America and Charles Schwab, following their strong runs year-to-date. Added https://postimg.cc/JsW4x8d4 The latest quarterly reconstitution, in June, saw an increase in the weighting of Facebook and Microsoft, confirming that Morningstar does not see the tech giants as overvalued. One exception to this is Polaris (PII) which shows a discount to fair value of 27% as per the table above. It looks like Morningstar have confidence not only in the strength of the business, but also in the ability of the new CEO and CFO, who were given full-time status in May, to allocate capital in a way that creates significant value over time. Waiting On The Sidelines https://postimg.cc/JsqmQkkP VanEck provides a list of stocks that could be included as part of the next reconstitution, if their valuations permit. Top of the list is the E-commerce giant MercadoLibre (MELI), whose stock has retreated from its highs in February. The Full List Below is the full list of the 48 names currently included in the MOAT ETF. In my opinion, this list is a helpful source of ideas for investors looking for wide-moat individual stocks trading at reasonable valuations. https://postimg.cc/p96w0YXY submitted by /u/Ironleg01 [link] [comments]

Last week the GE $14.35 Dark Pool level saw 11,794,536 orders with a total notional value of $169.25M making the $14.35 mark a critical level to keep an eye on. This Dark Pool level acted as a previous resistance before it had a sell-off into Friday the 28th. I would keep an eye on the $14-$14.20 range as we have over $200M in notional value in that range. These levels are critical levels that should be charted. Typically, the high notional value levels act as strong support/resistance. *Sidenote* Looking at Dark Pool levels is an integral part of some individuals' options trading strategies. The price of the stock in Dark Pools can diverge from the price of the stock in the public markets resulting in an imbalance. It is important to assess and understand this imbalance as investors & market makers will react and hedge accordingly to these imbalances in price. Options are typically the derivative of choice when it comes to hedging certain positions. submitted by /u/quantdata [link] [comments]

Ever since the [redacted meme stock] event, I see a lot of complaints about market manipulation and shorting. Every time a stock is “supposed to go up” but isn't there are always people claiming the market makers and shorts are ruining it. The say the shorts are idiots and will soon get fucked. Did you know that retail investors can short stocks? It's not that hard to open up a margin account. Of course there are also put options but that has other variables and risks and not every stock has options. Have you ever thought maybe you're the idiot for buying a stock that's way up or overvalued instead of shorting it? Either don't take the risk of shorting or don't buy when a stock is inflated. Stop bitching about market manipulation and shorting. Maybe your stock isn’t going up because it has no revenue and already gained 200% on speculation the company has the next cure for cancer. This is just the aftermath of meme stocks and a huge bull run. People think they can make easy 100% gains consistently. Do your research on what you're buying before listening to erectsimp69 on Reddit. Do your research on how the market works if you want to be a successful investor long term unless you’re ok with just gambling. submitted by /u/whiterhinoqueef [link] [comments]

  43. I’d use Warren Buffett’s advice to aim to beat the stock market (10/02/2021 - The Motley Fool UK)
Warren Buffett has generally held a negative viewpoint of gold over recent decades. Some investors have sought refuge in the precious metal during periods of economic uncertainty. But he has instead purchased shares in high-quality companies when they trade at low prices. His strategy has been hugely successful. It has easily outperformed the stock market over the long run. It could continue to do so in future. Gold has its benefits, of course. But rather than investing money in gold while the economy currently faces a challenging near-term future, I think purchasing undervalued stocks could be a profitable move. Stock market track record Warren Buffett’s avoidance of gold and focus on shares may be partly due to the track record of the stock market. Even though it has experienced numerous downturns in the past, it has always recovered from them. Therefore, a strategy that seeks to buy cheap stocks and hold them in the long run has generally been a sound means of taking advantage of the market cycle. Many investors buy gold when economic uncertainty is high. That makes sense as its defensive qualities mean that it is usually less correlated to the prospects for global GDP growth. But buying gold at such times can also mean paying a high price that limits capital growth opportunities. Furthermore, investor sentiment has always improved following even the very worst market downturns. As such, Buffett’s strategy of banking on a recovery via cheap stocks could be more profitable than buying gold ahead of a likely reduction in risk-aversion among investors. Warren Buffett’s focus on quality Of course, Warren Buffett does not only seek to buy cheap stocks. He focuses on the quality of a company above all else. For him, this means identifying businesses with wide economic moats. For example, this may be a unique product, strong brand loyalty or a cost base that is significantly lower than sector peers. A wide economic moat can produce higher margins, more resilient financial performance, and faster-growing profitability in the long run. Buffett seeks to identify high-quality companies when they temporarily trade at low prices. This may be caused by economic weakness, but could also be prompted by weak industry operating conditions. Where a company has a wide economic moat, a sound strategy to overcome short-term difficulties, and the financial means to put its plan into action, Buffett has often invested. A long-term view A strategy that seeks to buy high-quality companies at low prices requires a long time horizon. While the economy has always returned to growth following recessions, and the stock market has made gains following every previous downturn, it can take time for these events to take place. Warren Buffett has always had an extremely long time horizon. This provides scope for all of his purchases to recover from their short-term challenges. In doing so, they have often outperformed the wider stock market and produced returns that are significantly higher than those of gold. 44. Question about options (24/05/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
Hey everyone, I have a question about options that I’m not sure where to ask, I’m brand new to investing in stocks. If anyone could explained I’d appreciate it a lot: How does anyone lose a ton of money with options? Why wouldn’t they just let the contracts expire and lose their premium, isn’t that the only real risk you have with options - because it gives you the right not the obligation? I browse WSB and see their “loss porn” and as someone who doesn’t know too much about options I just scratch my head because how is someone so negative on a position - it’s not like the premiums are hundreds of thousands of dollars, are they?!? Thanks y’all, I welcome criticism. submitted by /u/__MichaelScott__ [link] [comments]

  48. I took a big hit and I'm not sure what I should do (17/03/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I'm down about 700 on 5k, I have a 3.1k holding on PLTR, about 750 in cash, and some money in long term options that have turned bad lately. I'm not really sure what my best course of action is. Do I sell everything, and wait a couple days, or should I sell my options and put all my eggs into 1 basket with PLTR. I do believe in the company, but I've no clue where the market will go over the next few days/weeks. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I plan on getting out of options ASAP, but they're on ICLN, and with 1 option expiring in a months time, I'm not sure whether I'm best off closing that option at a 50% loss, or hold out for the week and hope we see a recovery. 49. I built a site that combines social media and keeps track of the most talked about ticker symbols (31/05/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
I built a site that takes all posts from 24 different investing subreddits as well as from thousands of popular investing twitter, YouTube, and tiktok users and places them into one searchable and organized place. While many posts may not be relevant or go unread, the idea is to be able to search for any ticker symbol, key word, or username and see relevant posts across all social media all in one place. The site keeps track of the most talked about stock ticker symbols and places them under “Trending”. The site comes with a wide range of tools to help analyze all the data and will alert you every time a new ticker symbol begins to trend with the sentiment analysis on all the posts it has collected on that ticker over the past 24 hours. Its served as a super useful tool for me for finding popular ticker symbols just as they begin to gain hype and thought it could serve you guys as well StockCompiler submitted by /u/notdjc [link] [comments]
