  3. Resumption Trade Time vs Resumption Quote Time? (15/06/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
So, I was checking on NASDAQ website about a security that I'm interested in being halted. However, I found something that I'm curious about. In the NASDAQ Trade Halts page, there are 2 columns regarding resumption time: 1) resumption quote time and 2) resumption trade time and the resumption trade time will either be at the same time as resumption quote time or after the resumption quote time. My questions are: if I understand correctly, we can start trading at or after the resumption trade time, why don't they make it as one? why don't the resumption quote time and resumption trade time are the same time? since the resumption quote time comes before the resumption trade time, the trades are not allowed to be executed, how can the price be changed during those time, since there are no movement? Thank you very much! submitted by /u/yoohoooos [link] [comments]

  4. Unsettled cash and margin maintenance (28/06/2021 - Reddit Stock Market)
Does cash from an unsettled trade count towards the amount of equity that is required to meet margin maintenance? My account says $10k in “cash and sweep”, and $10k “available to trade”. Since my margin is 1:1 and I cashed out of my trade this morning, $10k is currently unsettled cash. I’m assuming the $10k that is “available to trade” is margin? Strange that is says that I have funds available to trade because when I go to take a $1k position on a stock it says “buying power effect ($896)”, which indicates a negative balance. Can someone help shed some clarity on this? submitted by /u/HotspurN17 [link] [comments]

  17. Tax: Trade in IRA, buy-hold in brokerage (15/02/2021 - Reddit Stocks)
I trade more frequently in my brokerage account (incurring taxes), and just have my rollover IRA sit in a vanguard fund. I just realized it’s waaay more tax advantageous to do the opposite. Trade in tax-sheltered accounts and buy-and-hold in a brokerage account. Note: I don’t trade VERY often, certainly an investor not trader but sometimes I do want to exit/trim positions that I’ve held for less than 12 months What do you guys think? Am I missing something here? The hardest thing is using that ridiculous vanguard platform for trading. submitted by /u/kekw0728 [link] [comments]
